Dining room table damage... Recommend someone to help.
So when doing our bathroom remodel the brilliant contractor decided to leave a can of WD-40 on our dining room table!!
The dark mahogany stain is now completely off in that spot and 2 other smaller spots. This table/entire set is literally brand new. No one has ever sat on it.
Is there someone who you recommend to fix this? Can we hire someone to sand and stain just that spot or would you be able to tell that its a patch job? do we have to sand the whole table down or is the table now garbage?
Thanks for the input.

The table definitely isn't garbage, since it isn't structurally damaged. You (someone) will have to sand the entire top to refinish it, other wise you will see the patch.
If it was an old kitchen table, I would say just sand it to get all the WD-40 out, and put some new polyurethane over the patch, but you'll definitely notice it.
I bought a scratched kitchen table from a clearance section of a furniture store. I did a pretty good job, but it's still obvious where I did the repair. We just either put a tablecloth over it, or ignore it...
