Disappointed in my Shutterfly Christmas card....
I ordered my photo Christmas cards from Shutterfly last year and loved the way they turned out.
I ordered again from Shutterfly this year and received them in the mail yesterday. My picture on the card came out pretty "muddy" looking. The photo is crystal clear on my computer and in Photoshop.
Anyone else experience something like this with Shutterfly? They're not so bad that I'll be sending them back. Just feeling kinda disappointed.

yes US TOO.. THE PICs came out very dark..plus i ordered a calendar like i do every year and the colors are all off. i am going to call today about it

I ordered mine through Shutterfly again this year (they were just shipped so I haven't seen them yet) but I find that in general, Shutterfly's printing S-U-C-K-S compared to others. Oddly, you know who prints GREAT??!!.............Walmart. I used Snapfish and had them printed at Walmart and they came out AMAZING!! I hope my cards from Shutterfly come out nice this year or I may just stop using them.

My sister used Shutterfly for 2 years...first year was great. Last year there was a blip right in the middle of her daughter's face. She called, they reprited them and rushed them to her, and it was the same thing!
It was as if the photo was smeared after it was printed before it was dry...certainly not part of the image.
THis year she went with mixbook which she said was cheaper and she was happy with the quality.

I would call and say something, they stand by thier product and are really good about things like that.
Last year I got mine from them and the writing was so blurry you could not make out what it said and they re-did them for me.

I ordered mine from Shutterfly and I have mixed feelings about them. Generally they are nice, but they are not quite as sharp as I think they should be.

I agree. They also have every pic of my DD so it's just easy to use them but every time I do I am disappointed. Last time I had an 8X10 printed and I clearly removed the red eye and the pic was beautiful but when I received it the colors were off and her eyes were red. So disappointing.
I placed my order for Xmas cards last night at about 7pm, this morning I get an email they shipped. It makes me a little nervous how they will turn out since they printed them off so fast. If they stink I'm absolutely calling to complain.

Yeah mine came out a bit less clear and the color wasn't as sharp
Not enough to send back but I woudl think they woudl have done a better job
Tiny prints is better I think

If it makes you feel better I ordered mine from tiny prints and was not completely happy. A couple of the cards came out with streaks in them and I couldnt use them.

I had this issu with tiny prints. We used them for our birth announcements and last year's Christmas card and were extremely pleased.
We got our Christmas cards last night and are not thrilled with the printing. The pics we picked were great and high resolution but yet look a little grainy on the card. DH thinks it's the printing. Not bad enough to send back but not as wonderful as they have been in the past.

Yes I was very disapointed- mine actually had ink lines on the side of it and the original doesnt- just crappy printing on their part.

I am in the minority, but I use Shutterfly all the time and just received my cards last week and they look great.
Could it be the paper? They offer matte and glossy. Could that affect the color, quality, possibly?

I ordered the pewter ornaments from Shutterfly and got them last night. The quality is nice but the picture image is all washed out. I emailed them last night and this mornign I got an email saying they are going to mail me out a new batch. Fingers crossed that they are better

I've only ever ordered in matte finish. Not sure.

We used a $35 coupon and DH actually said he thought they did a crappy job bc we got a great discount. I dismissed him comment but your comment makes me wonder.

I wasn't pleased and actually sent them back and reordered new ones with Tiny Prints. I have a calendar drafted with them but am nervous about ordering after being disappointed with the cards.

They have excellent customer service and I have no doubt they will send you all new cards.
One page on my wedding album was slightly stuck to the next and they sent me an entirely new album the next day!

same here. never used tiny prints before and only used them because of the promo codes. my pic was perfect quality but printed very dark. im pretty disappointed but sending them out anyway.

I ordered about $150 in cards for pennies, and they look pretty good. Not as sharp as I would like, but I think that's because they were printed on card stock, not photo paper. Nothing ever comes out as sharp on card stock in my experience.
I do NOT use them for regular prints though. They are awful. Colors are always off
