Disney - which resort for a 10yr old and 3 yr old?

I'm in the very very early stages of researching Disney for October 2019. My DD will be just turning 3 and my DS will be 10. I would prefer to stay on-site, but we're open to staying nearby if it affords us better rooms.

Given the big age gap, I'd rather not have DD and DS share a bed. But we also don't want to break the bank. Any suggestions on which resort/hotel would be best for us?

Disney - which resort for a 10yr old and 3 yr old?

I have stayed at the Polynesian Villas and Port Orleans Riverside. Both were fantastic. The Polynesian had a queen bed, a couch that opened to a bed and a murphy bed that pulled down under the tv. Port Orleans Riverside had 2 queen beds and a murphy bed that pulled down from under the tv. I am not sure what other Disney resort has those options but I loved both resorts. Polynesian a little more only because it was on the Monorail loop and was very easy to get to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Port Orleans is a huge resort with a lot of walking but it is beautiful. We rented DVC points to stay at the Polynesian which saved us a lot of money.

Thanks! Port Orleans Riverside is at the top of my list. I love the Royal rooms.

Port Orleans has some rooms with 2 double beds and a pull out cot in the wall (murphy bed style) which might work for your family

The only other rooms I know that would have enough sleeping areas for you would be Art of Animation

No advice on Disney but I would just have one kid sleep with me, and one sleep with DH in a double or queen bed.

If you rent DVC points you can stay at Boardwalk for same price as a moderate resort. We went last month. Our room (a studio) had a king bed, pull out sofa and a Murphy bed that pulled down from wall. We loved the location as you could walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We used the DVC rental store. Just book way in advance as these rooms get snatched quickly. I’d be happy to answer any questions.

The Royal Rooms only have 2 queen beds. There is no pull down bed here. I believe the only rooms that have that at POR are the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section. They're still super cute, although they don't have the princess theming.

If we could afford it we would have stayed at one of the monorail resorts.

POR Royal Rooms are AWESOME!!! My kids LOVED the room (the fiber optic headboard was a favorite) and the pool area is huge and fun. The nice thing about the Royal Rooms is they are all located in the mansions which is a great location, close to the lobby, cafeteria, arcade and pools. We LOVE POR, the grounds are stunning, you would LOVE it!!

We also did a night at AOA, my kids thought it was awesome and it is GREAT for kids but DH and I felt it was a little overly themed for our taste. We've also done Pop Century which the kids loved as well. We're doing Wilderness Lodge in December.

ETA - No Murphy beds in RR, just two Queens
