Mommies who have taken a 2 yr old to disney
Actually he'll be almost 2.5
Should I do: 5 days 4 nights(this seems short to me) 6 days 5 nights
or
7 days 6 nights 8 days 7 nights Because of the way the air is working out- its only a $20 difference between these 2 choices??? Is 8 days too long though?

Not too long at all. I took both of my kids starting out very young (my son was 7.5 months the first time; we've been there 4 times since and he just turned 3) and I liked that I had more days because that way, we didn't have to go to disney consecutively, so on the off days, we either did some shopping, hit up some local attractions or hung out by the pool.

We did disney this summer for 8 days, 7 nights and in my opinion it wasn't long enough!

Plus it is exhausting. We tried to do a park a day with only one day to just rest and lounge around at the hotel/pool and the next time we go for a week, most likely next summer, we'll just pick 3 main parks we want to do and alternate with days for the hotel. I want it to feel like a restful vacation, as much as it feels like something fun!

I'd do 8 days -you will be able to go at a nice pace then and if DS gets tired you wont feel like he is going to miss out on anything and you could skip the park a day or two and just hang out by the pool. A lot of the Disney hotels have tons of stuff to do right at the hotel. I don't know where you plan on staying but Carribbean Beach has a lot of fun stuff to do right there.

Re: Mommies who have taken a 2 yr old to disney
We are doing 8 days 7 nights first week of Dec with my 2yr son so I can let you know :)
But from experience, longer is nicer because you can space out your time at the parks better. When I went with my other 2 (under 5 at the time), we would go in the morning, leave after lunch, either go back to the hotel for a nap or pool or just relax. Sometimes if the park was open late, we would go back.
We also went to Sea World which my kids love and I might skip Universal if all you have is a 2 yr old there really isn't alot for them there.

I don't think it's too long at all. We took Nicholas when he was 2. He had a blast! It's tiring, but just take it slow. We've been there so much so if you have any questions, let me know. When are you going?

That's a good time to go since the crowds are really low. Of course when we went in early Feb in 06, it was 30 degrees there I kid you not! We still managed to have fun though
Note the gloves and sweatpants
