Disney Dining for little Boys?
Hi!
We just booked a last minute Disney trip for this coming May - I KNOW people make reservations, like 9 year sin advance so I'm not expecting too much - and I honestly don't like to be very regimented on time when we're on vacation (especially w/ a 2 and 4 year old)
But it will be the little guy's 2nd Birthday while we're there and I'd like to something special for him ....
Any ideas? I haven't been to Disney in 10 years !!
TIA!

Disney Dining for little Boys?
Do your kids like the Disney Jr shows? My almost 3 year old really enjoyed the breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood Studios with Handy Manny, Jake, Special Agent Oso and June from Little Einsteins (he could have cared less about her but, was in awe of the others).
We also enjoyed the TRex Cafe in Downtown Disney (Rainforest Cafe but, with better food and Dinosaurs). The kids also enjoyed the Rainforest Cafe too but, TRex was better.
If you can't find reservations for places that you think you want - usually a bunch open up the week before you travel - there are lots of cancellations.

Re: Disney Dining for little Boys?
We did Tuskers in Animal Kingdom and t was great. They had the more traditional characters like Donald, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc... As opposed to the princesses

I don't know about dining but Walt Disney World has added Lightning McQueen to their Lights, Motors, Action! stunt show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

They don't have any dining but, they have a photo op with Lightning McQueen and Mater at Hollywood Studios. We did the breakfast there at Hollywood and Vine before the park opened and were first on line to see them. The line was short so we were also 3, 5 and 7th on line before I had to drag DS away - the photographer loved him and we had pre-purchased photo pass plus - we got our moneys worth with that.
We also ate at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom and DS loved it - his whole face lit up.
It's funny - he's usually shy around people he doesn't know but, had no issue with the characters.
ETA - They have actual cars of LMQ and Mater - they don't talk or do anything but, it was still exciting to a 3 year old obsessed with the movies.

Re: Disney Dining for little Boys?
We want to be flexible this trip but we still want to do TS meals (one a day). We booked CRT and Akershus bc my girls have to do the princess meals. But we booked all other meals that don't require a credit guarantee so we can cancel last minute. I booked 2 TS meals a day. We will see how we feels and cancel those we decide we don't need. This way we can say lets not leave the park early but sit for lunch and swim at night instead. So that might be something to consider. This way you have something but can cancel. Character meals and some very popular places like ohana dinner require a credit guarantee which can be cancelled but you must cancel the day before not the day of or they charge you $10 pp.
Some places to check out for 2 boys...
Hollywood and vine if they like disney jr. crystal palace -pooh, tigger, eeyore and pigket chef mickey mickey and friends Tusker house garden grill Cape may Ohana breakfast
Are your kids very early risers? Character breakfasts are nice but you want to try to get a time before rope drop so you don't lose that opening time. Or I would pick a late breakfast to get some thing done early. I prefer dinners (early ones) over breakfasts.
There is a rainforest cafe at AK and at dtd. Also there is a TRex cafe in DTD. Just a warning some people think that TRex can be loud if that is something that could be an issue with young kids if they are sensitive.
I think we might be going the same week if you need some help or have questions feel free to fm me.
I found www.easywdw.com had some good crowd calendar info breaking down the wdw calendar by day, saying which park is best to visit which day and why. May has been up for a while. It is star wars weekends at HS and EPCOT's flower and garden festival during that time.
We are celebrating my DD#2's 4 th birthday ( 3 days after we return). Make sure you note on your adrs and your hotel ressie that you are celebrating your DS's birthday this way he might get some special pixie dust. Last tri we celebrated DD#2's 1st birthday and they gave her some mickey confetti, birthday cards and a cupcake.

My 2yo son still talks about TRex! We went in October. We went to Rainforest Cafe too (theres one in Downtown Disney and one just outside the gate at AK) and he still talks about the gorillas there. Those restaurants definitely left an impression on him!

We did not eat here but we went back twice to play. They have this cute bone digging area.

yes, you do
So I would need to plan to spend some time at HS in order to have a meal there?
Just wondering because we are only going to AK and MK but I like the breakfast at HS because of the Disney Jr characters.

Forgot this definitely add this. We do it for lunch whenever we go to HS. So much fun for the kids to sit in the cars!

I wouldn't go to HS just to eat there. My friends go for the characters butbsay it is the worst character meal food wise. If you are already at the park it is another story.

If you have the hopper you can just go in and out but it sounds like you don't. It's definitely expensive enough that it's not worth it just to hop to a park for a meal. If you are going to use it otherwise then that's different.

Earl of sandwich is delicious, too.
It's just a sandwich place but is a must do when you are in downtown Disney.
