Disney Dining Plan

What do you think? Worth it or not? For the basic plan it will cost us $480.00 so we will get 6 table-service meals, 6 quick-service meals, and 6 snacks. The only negative seems to be that gratuity is now extra. But other than that, it seems like a good deal. Oh, Disney experts....what do you think? I have to book TODAY (Wednesday) at the LATEST as we arrive Satruday night.... (We didn't think we were able to get it because we didn't book through them for our room., but they said we could.... also, we are only there for 5 full days and don't really need meals for 6 days, but we wanted to a dinner theatre that costs 2 table-service meals anyway? what do you think?????

TIA!!!!

Re: Disney Dining Plan

how much is the plan a day? the price i get is ridiculously good because i'm a cast member so it's always worth it for us. if you are going to spend that much or more a day on food, totally get it! that way you get into the best restaurants and are barely seeing it come from your pocket. they do have a suggestion tip on the checks now so it'll help since their tax is different.

Re: Disney Dining Plan

We had it when we went 3 weeks ago. We liked it a lot. It was a ton of food, but it was nice to not think about the cost of anything and just order what you want off the menu.

You can use meals from the time you check in until midnight the day you check out. So even if you leave early your last day, you could have breakfast or something before you leave.

We would do it again.

We did the meal plan when we went back in sept. and it worked out great. Lots of food. We're definitely doing it again when we go back in a few months.

If you plan to have dinners at the sit down restaurants, then the plan is worth it & convenient. It loses value once you start using the TS credits for lunch or breakfast.

We did the meal plan the past two trips. Yes they changed it and the tips and appetizers are not included anymore - but we still did it anyway at the end of Sept on our last trip and we still saved a LOT of money. Honestly it depends on your eating habits. You should go to allearsnet.com and check out the menus of where you are dining. B/c we were on the plan we were comfortable ordering the more expensive meals (fillet mignon etc) versus maybe a cheaper item if we were paying OOP. If you plan to eat small meals or the cheapest things on the menu - or eating at all inexpensive TS places it might not get you too far ahead. But if you plan it right you can come out well ahead of the deal.

We chose snacks that were just under $4, CS meals are about - $12-15, TS meals - our entrees were about $29-34 dollars, plus your soda, and dessert which ran about $6-8. And your taxes were included.

Re: Disney Dining Plan

okay, we booked it!!! YIPPEE!!! i hope it's worth it... it came to about $41 per day for both of us... but i am thinking we're doing 1 dinner theatre, Ohana, Coral Reef, Boma and a character breakfast... that alone would cost at least half that plus all the counter-service and snacks we get...

Crossing fingers we did the right thing and save money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Disney Dining Plan

You will be surprised about the quick service meals, they are full meals. We used them for either breakfast or lunch. The disney website has a good print out of all the dining plans, I would bring that.
