Disney in January?
Anyone been? How's the weather at this time? My girls would be 4 and just turning 1.

Re: Disney in January?
We went last year, and weather was pretty good....capris, t-shirts, some light jackets. Too cold for the pool. However, 2 weeks before we were there, Orlando had CRAZY cold weather, and people were in winter jackets.....so it is dicey - but hopefully we won't have a winter like last years!

Re: Disney in January?
We've gone in January a couple of times when my father used to run the Disney Marathon. It was usually 60/70s during the day (we wore short sleeves and pants) and then cooler at night, usually in the 40/50s, where we would need a sweatshirt and long sleeves. It's a nice time of year there though.

Re: Disney in January?
Some of the pools are heated. You have to call and ask. Also, a lot of places refurb their pools from Dec-March...

Re: Disney in January?
It could be HOT or it could be FREEZING. You never know! Last year we were frozen when we went in Feb... but the year before that in Feb it was in the 90's.

Re: Disney in January?
The first time I ever went to Disney was back in January 2001.. it was FREEZING! It was probably 60s during the day.. we had to wear long pants, tshirts and bring sweatshirts.. at night though, COLDDDD!! I love Disney in October, not only for the fun trick or treating etc. but the weather is perfect, I will never go in January again!

One of my clients went last Feb and told me it was 40. Cold and not as enjoyable as they thought it would be.
I think it's a hit or miss. Too cold regardless for the pool and water rides.

Re: Disney in January?
We went back in 2002 - it was upper 60s and lower 70s during the day and cold at night 40's and 50s mostly - BUT we had 1 or 2 nights we had to buy gloves and it was in the 30s. We did have one day that hit almost 80. We layered - jeans, tee shirts with a sweatshirt and a light jacket so we could shed layers as the day went on. We did get to swim on the warmer day - remember the pools there are heated and they were pretty crowded - but for me it was a bit cool to do more than that one day. Make sure you bring your winter jacket b.c we did need them at night.
If you don't mind the cooler weather it is a fabulous time to go - little to no waits for rides, characters, etc. We could go on 3/4 of the rides in the MK between opening and lunch time. The longest waits were between 5 and 20 mins rather than the 60-90 mins during more moderate times.

Re: Disney in January?
I went the first week of January in 2010. It was freezing, but i think that was abnormally cold. It was in the 30's. Coats & hats.
