Disney People Help!!
DH has just informed me that for his 30th birthday, he wants to go to Disney World. So, his vacation starts Sept. 20 (19 days away). I want to really enjoy ourselves. I don't mind spending some cash, but I don't want to go overboard, either. Can anyone help me out? I want to make plans (airlines, hotels, etc.) by Sunday or Monday (9/2 or 9/3). Thanks for any input!!!

You might have a little trouble making resis for meals since they are offering free dining till the 26th. You can stay at a moderate resort for relatively inexpensive amount. You can also fly Southwest which has some fares of $59 recently.

Jetblue had some great fare for around that time also.
I agree with KPToys about the moderate resorts - they are lovely and in good locations without being too expensive. Ask them about AAA discounts if you have it.
For dining - if you are having a lot of trouble getting dining reservations check out restaurants that are not part of the dining plan -- there are several in Downtown Disney and the ones at the Swan & Dolphin resorts.

I booked our trip through AAA (we are going next week) and got a great rate. If you don't belong it's worth the $30 to join because you will save a lot more than that! Or else check todays paper because almost every Sunday I have seen Disney ads for specials.
I agree Christine on the dining reservations. Also, I am sure that Disney must also get last minute cancellations (I know I've cancelled) and you still may be able to get in somewhere at the last minute.

Bluezoo at the Swan & Dolphin is an amazing restaurant. I would suggest making a reservation within the week to get a table for your trip. We made our reservation for the 17th already.

If you're a BJ's member you can check their travel section...sometimes they have great deals. Travelzoo and Travelocity are other good places to look for last minute deals. I actually think the time of year you are going is "down" season so you may be able to find alot of good deals. Good Luck!
