What We Learned
Plane ride: lots of little toys, washable crayons (cleans up with baby wipes), we flew JetBlue and got him earphones which he loved, snacks, drinks. I was so nervous about takeoff and his ears but sure enough as the plane took off he actually requested his sippy cup and drank the entire time.

Schedule/Routine: we did our best to preserve as much of his schedule as possible but did not go back to the resort for naps...instead we walked around in quiet places and gave him his lovey to sleep...he had no problem napping in the stroller every day. For bedtime we tried to keep the bath consistent and brought his sound machine, blanket and teddy bear. We brought our own pack and play (no charge by JetBlue to check) and put the extra mattress inside the bag as well - it wrapped around three sides. We slept when he slept at night but learned towards the end that we could carry his pnp into the bathroom when he fell asleep and close the curtain. We could then move around the room, eat and watch tv no problem...wish we had figured that out earlier. Back home he has adjusted back to the routine without a problem. I think that out practices on vacation helped. We were out of the parks no later than 9:30 every night and although 2 hours after his bedtime...he was usually sleeping in the stroller by 8:30.

Fireworks: I was afraid he would be scared but he loved each and every show and pointed the fireworks out to us each time.

Rides: Loved all the boat/sit-down rides - even in the dark but Small World was his favorite. He did not do well where there were only films including the interactive one with Crush from Nemo.

Food/Eating: I had no idea how expensive or how 'fast-food-like' all the choices at the park and resort were. We were all sick of it by day 3 and Lucas really didn't eat much. I was able to get fruit/apple sauce and some selections I preordered from gardengrocer.com for him. Mostly he just drank...it was very hot so that was most important to me. He did have his share of chicken nuggets, french fries, and pizza but we tried not to let that go overboard. We found a place in the resort that sold bread and we got cheese slices and made grilled cheese for him. Since we have been home he has been eating well again...both in terms of nutrition and regularity.

Overall - great trip. I cried so many times watching his excitment. It's beyond words. Everything was so amazing and it really made the trip that much more magical for us. He loved the pool so we tried to get in at least two visits in between parks. We were able to do Epcot and Magic Kingdom each in a day since we focused on what he could do.

Pools: You can bring floaties for the kids (Lucas has a boat type thing), highly recommend water shoes since they run all over the place.

Park Tips: There are guides from Playskool that highlight activities and rides for 5 and under...that was a huge help. You can get them at City Hall in MK.

First Visit Buttons are available in city hall at MG.

You can bring water and juice into the park. We brought one sippy cup and kept refilling.

If I can think of more I'll add. Best advice...regardless of where you go...keep them busy..on the move or lots of things to see and they should sleep fine.

There was a woman in the laundry center asking me how old Lucas was...when I told her he was 15 months she went on and on about how he was too young. Chat Icon

No, he will not remember actually being there but he will love the pictures. Plus...I will never forget how much fun it was to be there with him and see it through his eyes...

Plus no begging for gifts at the shops....nice!!!!!

Looks like it was a great trip!

I think kids love it at any age as long as you remember to do things for their age. They do have lots of stuff for them. Your trip was the prime example.
