Disney resort restaurant recommendations (non-character)?

I haven't booked our hotel yet but we will most likely be staying at Arts of Animation this time we go to Disney. We bought our plane tickets already.

Can you recommend your favorite resort restaurants (non-character)?

We loved the restaurants at Polynesian the last time we went to Disney and plan to eat there again. We will probably do Kona Café for breakfast. Loved the tonga toast!

Do you know if we can park at Polynesian all day and take the monorail to Magic Kingdom?

We stayed there last time so I didn't know how parking worked for non-guests.

BOMA looks good. Not sure how my kids and we will like African food but it looks like there will be a lot of kid friendly food.

The boys would love seeing animals around.

Animal Lodge and Yacht Club are our other options for resorts. Of course DH prefers Arts of Animation due to price.

We stopped by Arts of Animation the last time we were at Disney. The pool was magnificent! Our boys had a blast running around. They went crazy for the nemo theming for the playground. They also loved running around seeing life sized Disney Cars.

eta: they probably had more fun in the hour that we stopped by arts of animation than when we were actually at magic kingdom.

We ate at Boma last summer. It was soooo good. DD ate a lot there but she eats a lot of unique flavors. But if I remember correctly they had some very basic items to like roasted chicken and rice. It's Disney, I wouldn't worry too much about kids eating.

ETA: We also ate at the Cat Cora restaurant at the Boardwalk which was delicious.

Ohana is fun. Boma was good in the past and they have chicken fingers and fries for the picky eaters. Their salads and soups were good. They also had slice steak. An adventerous eater can have fun here but s pickey eater is pretty safe there too. We had a good breakfast there ywars ago when we stayed there.

Jiko was good too but it is a 2TS place. They had some very good african wines. I haven't eaten there but heard good things about saana.

Friends of ours say their kids love whispering caynon over at WL. They do funny antics for the kids like horse races, hokey pokey etc. Be careful what you ask for.

What is 2TS?

I just tried to book the character bbq over at WL with no such luck. You have to prepay for the meal for that one so I wonder if there will be less cancellations.

Ohana was also our favorite meal. We had so many good meals while we stayed at Poly. Even the sushi take out was pretty good.

We had dole whip ice cream everyday. I think that was my favorite part. Love dole whip since Hawaii and the only places I know to get it is Hawaii, Magic Kingdom and Polynesian.

BOMA.

We went in Dec 2010 with 10 people including 4 kids under10 and everyone enjoyed this place.
Although its 'african' they have kid faves too.

We also like the Moracco restaurant, and Raglan Rd in DTD.
