Disney restaurants

When we eat at disney, we usually play it by ear and eat wherever we want. Just wondering if anyone had recommendations of restaurants to go to. Also, let me know if you recommend making reservations. TIAChat Icon

Re: Disney restaurants

Unless you really don't care when, where and what you eat, you should make reservations. The dining plan has made it difficult to impossible for restaurants to accept walk ups.

There's all kinds of good stuff there...

California Grill @ the Contemporary
Yachtsman Steakhouse @ the Yacht Club
Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom
Whispering Canyon Cafe @ the Wilderness Lodge
Boma @ the Animal Kingdom Lodge
Sci-Fi Drive In or Prime Time Cafe @ MGM

www.intercot.com has a list of all the Disney restaurants with menus to check out.

Re: Disney restaurants

I've never actually gone to another resort just to go to their restaurant. Maybe that would something to look into.

Well the old Italian restaurant (Alfredos) is closed- but since last year they opened a temporary one - that I think is supposed to be good - but haven't tried it called Tutto Italia - that one will eventually close when they are ready to open the new one - but not sure when you are going if you are going this summer I think you are okay if you wanted to try Tutto Italia.

I would suggest that you definitely make AR - since now they don't hold any spots for walk ins so unless someone cancels it is much harder these days to just walk into a table service meal esp now with free dining being offered

I would recommend for a nice meal:
California Grill - Top of the Contemporary hotel
Bistro de Paris (upstairs restaurant in France - Epcot)
Jiko - Animal Kingdom Lodge
Victoria & Albert - Grand Floridian (GF)
Citicos - GF
Narcossee - GF
Artist Point - Wilderness Lodge

For fun:
San Angel Inn - Mexico - the food is not top but the sangria and the atmosphere is one of the best ones in EPCOT

Check out this site - it has all the menus for every table service and counter service place in WDW.

Re: Disney restaurants

These recs are all great. Thanks! I know this may sound like an odd question but does the shuttle take you to the other hotels?

There are a handful of resorts that share buses - the Port Olreans resorts and the Epcot Resorts share buses. The monorail resorts are all connected of course. But ordinarily, you need to switch buses at a park or downtown disney.

Re: Disney restaurants

Coral Reef in Epcot
Kona Cafe in the Polynesian
Narcoosee's in the Grand Floridian

ETA: Yes, you should make reservations at these places.

Also, the Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater at Hollywood Studios was a lot of fun!

Re: Disney restaurants

We always eat at Sc-fi drive in (MGM) when we go. I like the Prime Time Cafe. I also really liked the Irish restaurant in Pleasure Island. I can't remember the name but it was really good. We are going July 3rd for our honeymoon and we are trying for the first time Cinderella's Castle, Chef Mickey's and Citrico's.
