Disney Vacation Points
I won't be able to go to Disney next year so I have 300 points I am willing to sell if anyone is interested. They can be used from Feb 2012 through Jan 2013 and our points are at the Beach Club Villas. FM if interested.

Re: Disney Vacation Points
Are you renting them or selling your interest? NM, it looks like you are renting them. How much per point? FYI, typically you can use points at ANY property, not just your home resort.

Re: Disney Vacation Points
Yes, I am renting them I guess and yes, you can use them at any resort, just that you get the 4 month window at the Beach Club Villas--ability to book before non-owners there can book. At other resorts I believe you can book 7 months out and here it can be 11 months out. Does that make sense?

Re: Disney Vacation Points
Could be a stupid question but how do teh points work? I don't know much about the vacation club but I want to go again next year and get a villa so my whole family can go with us.

Re: Disney Vacation Points
DVC members have a chart that shows how many points per night are required at each resort. Points vary according to season and which resort and how many bedrooms. So for an example, if I want to stay at Animal Kingdom in a 2 bedroom villa duing the lowest season, it might cost me xxx number of points per night. But if I want to stay at Old Key West in a 2 bedroom villa during a high season it might cost me a different number of points per night. The variations are pretty big depending on these things. As a member, we are allowed to "rent" or "transfer" our points as long as we don't do it on a regular basis.

Basically you figure out where you want to stay, then figure out how many points it's going to cost. Here is a points calculator that will tell you how many points you need based on your dates and resort. points calculator
Then you rent the points from an owner. Most go for around $10-$11 per point. You multiply that by the number of points you need to calculate your total price. The DVC owner then makes the reservation in your name. You can add dining to the reservation as well as Disney's Magical Express, however, you do NOT get housekeeping daily. If you want that, you pay an additional fee when you check in.

Re: Disney Vacation Points
Are you looking to sell all 300 to one person?
I've never rented points before, but DH and I are getting Annual passes this year and planning an October 2012 trip for a week, so we'd definitely be interested, but we typically don't spend a lot on accomodations, so we'd be looking at the least expensive room.
Do you know how much the mousekeeping service is/

Re: Disney Vacation Points
Mousekeeping is expensive. I think for a studio it was something like $25-$30 a day...and that was a couple of years ago.
