Disney with an infant
We are thinking of booking a trip to Disney in January while I am still on maternity leave. I am a teacher and only am able to get to Disney in the summers when it is soo hot, or during school vacations which are usually so packed with people. We thought this may be a great opportunity to do it while we can. The trip will be geared toward my almost 4 year old at the time DD who is currently obsessed with princesses, but we will be traveling with a 4.5 month year old.
Are there any rides you can bring the 4.5 month old on like Small World? or will one of us have to sit everything out? We may also be traveling with a grandparent or 2, so that will definitely help. Anyone have experience bringing an infant and have any tips?
TIA

I say go for it, even if you have to take turns sitting out a lot of things with the baby. We met our friends when her son was 2 months (they went for a week) and she said it was the easiest age so far (he's 4 now and they go every year)!

Re: Disney with an infant
No there is so much you can do - they can really do pretty much anything that doesn't have a height restriction. I saw so many moms with tiny infants (younger than 4 months) in carriers. They just threw them in a sling or carrier and took them onto the rides with them that way. There are a few ones though like toy story mania that don't have a height requirement but that are a little rough that you wouldn't want to bring the baby on - but most things like peter pan, winnie the pooh, haunted mansion, finding nemo etc are all slow moving rides that wouldn't be an issue. BTW there are very nice baby care centers. The ones at MK and EPCOT are the nicest. They have rooms for nursing, quiet areas where you can bottle feed, they have nice clean changing areas. A store with baby supplies (pedialyte, medicines, diaper supplies, gerber baby food, gerber juices, carnation formula, sun screen etc).
Also make sure you take advantage of baby swap. if your 4 year old wants to go on ride with a height requirement tell the cast member at the entrance that you would like to do baby swap and they will help you with that. One parent waits in a specific place with the baby while the other rides with the older child - then you switch and the other parent waits while the child rides again with the other parent. I think your whole party can basically do this. It only works if you have one child who is too small to ride - if there is no height requirement they don't offer it.

Re: Disney with an infant
no exerience w/ an infant but i just wanted to tell you to GO!!!! you have a great opportuniy to go there in Jan as a teacher. it is SO crowded in the summer and over traditional holidays etc. i am a teacher and we just snuck down there for the jewish holiday 4 day weekend with our 2 yr old DS and 4 yr old DD. it was awesome-my DD LOVED it! it was a great age to take her...also, although it was crowded, it was nowhere near the insanity that it is in the summer time. i saw TONS of families with tiny little babies there so i wouldn't worry too much about that. if you do go-have a great time and enjoy the parks w.o the madness!

Thanks for all the advice and feedback! I am going to really and try and make this work. I didn't think it would be that easy with an infant, but it seems it might just work for us.

Re: Disney with an infant
We took my 4 month old to Disney in June. I basically took him on all the rides that had no height requirement (which was like 90% of them). He went on pretty much everything with us. We didn't go on any big rides except space mountain where both kids stayed with my parents.
I say GO! We had a GREAT time despite the June heat.

I took our 4 month old on toy story mania. I didn't realize how rough it was going to be. Basically I secured his head really tight when I knew we were going to turn. That was probably the only one that I kind of felt bad taking him on. Although he absolutely loved it because of the bright lights.
