DIY blues...
do you guys ever start to do something you think you'll love, and when it's finished you don't...
My DH has worked really hard laying a new walkway, and he's done a great job, really he has. But I think I kinda hate it... It's just that when I said "slate" I thought it was going to look a bit more delicate - what we ended up with were blue limeston slabs and the whole thing looks a bit more chunky than I had anticipated...I even picked the stone out myself!
But this isn't the first time I've done this - there have been other projects where I think I'll really like something and when it's done I have second thoughts.
I'm a DIY indecisive disaster!!! Poor DH!
Anyone else???

I know just how you feel! I do that all the time I've repainted every room in this house at least 4x's and my DH and I redid our slate patio by ourselves to save money ......well hated it before but now I hate it even more! We plan on knocking down the house next year I can't wait to see what a mess I make of that!

Re: DIY blues...
IMO, the walkway looked great! But, if you want to break the color up a bit, could you add some colorful plants around it? Or, if the slate pieces aren't in there too tight, possibly take some out and replace them with smaller pieces, in a variety of colors?

Aw, thanks Lori!!
He grouted it a few nights ago and I hate it even more! But, it's still pretty dirty - we were hoping it would rain to clean it off in the past couple of days - and last night he started scrubbing off some of the excess grout...it looks better, but the grout is kind of bright (it's sand colored)...I'm hoping it fades soon. I might start throwing some dirt on there on purpose to tone it down a bit!
I guess I hsouldn't judge it before I see the finished product - and there is still painting, planting and potting to do. But I guess I feel a mixture of hate and guilt and it's a baaaad combination!

Re: DIY blues...
When we first starting painting the co-op, both of us freaked out because we bought a bright color and it looked sooooo bright against the othe rwhite walls. I freaked out and thought it was going to look awful! But then, once everything was painted and finished...it looked great! Hopefully the finished product will be different. And if not, throw dirt on it!
