DIY pavement projects ?
Hubby and I are looking to do a pavement project in our backyard...i'm a little nervous but he's very confident.
has anyone done these types of projects DIY? any feedback/tips?
where did you buy your materials?

We looked into it briefly last year but decided to leave it to the professionals after we saw how many tools were needed for the project. I don't know what kind of project you are thinking of but for our paver walkway, it was recommended that we dig down about 8 inches and fill it with a gravel-concrete mix. This mix had to be tamped down after filling every 2 inches. Then we could add leveling soil, pavers and the joint sand(which is a different kind of sand). There are lots of videos out there-so I would suggest looking at them to get an idea. We went to a couple of masonry stores. K&K Mason in Huntington has a good selection and they are very good. But we didn't really pay much attention to the price as we were paying the contractor. They do sell direct to you but I think there was a delivery charge. Good Luck!
