Do both parents usually attend toddler bday parties?

Most parties we've attended have both parents attending but they were for like 1-2 year olds. DH usually comes unless he is working.

Do both you and DH usually attend the bday party?

If it's for family, we both go if possible. Otherwise, in my experience, one parent or the other goes.

So far we've mostly gone to family friend parties. Maybe things will change in the future when we won't necessarily be friends with the parents.

Yes, both DH and I have gone. It's been friends or family friends. If it's friends both DH and I are close with the couple as well so all the DH's go. There's been alcohol there so the guys hang out a drink beer... then again so do us mommy's. LOL! Except now since I'm pregnant.
Most parties have been to 1 - 3 year old b-day parties. It may be different when he's in school, but who knows. DH enjoys going to any event on the weekend together

Most of the time we go as a couple. Occasionally, only one of us attends. DS is 3.

We have only one child though, and I have noticed when there are 2 or more children, usually only one parent attends.

It depends. If it's for family or close friends we usually both go, but my DD is in pre-k so if it's for one of her school friends usually I take her and DH stays with my DS. I find at the pre-school or pre-k parties its usually just one parent.

I'm trying to put together a list for food.

I was assuming 2 parents to each child. Maybe I should do 1.5 parents to each child instead.

We usually go together. Most parties are on the weekends, and since this is family time for us, we always attend together, this way DH doesn't miss out on time with the kids.

Ditto unless it is a close family friend of ours. Then he goes (if he isn't working).

I can say we don't eat as much as two people when out with AJ for stuff. We eat for about 1 Chat Icon too busy watching her, playing with her, keeping her 'good' etc. If its family we still only eat about 1.5. Its common practice for us to eat something later or before.

We're ordering cupcakes for everyone.

Would everyone eat a cupcake?

I am probably going to over order on everything. We are anticipating ~15 kids. I was going to order 50 cupcakes. I just don't want to run out.

Depends - sometimes yes, sometimes no. I do still find that the majority of the time both parents come.

We're doing a pull apart Elmo cupcake-cake for DD party this weekend. I only got enough for the kids. I will get pastries/cookies for the adults.

I was originally going to get cupcakes for just the kids and maybe a sheet cake for the adults. I'm a big baby though. I love cupcakes and would want my own!

Re: Do both parents usually attend toddler bday parties?

DH is always there for DC birthday parties but it depends on family parties. If he can go he will but he wont take a day off for it. I usually go alone or with my sister since we know the same group of mommy friends.

That's a LOT of cupcakes.

Remember kids will no show (sick etc) I'd order about 25, but that's me. That's more than enough. But I'd put out a pastry tray. Not every parent wants a cupcake but would eat a cookie or two (feels less guilty on adult diets)

If it's a family party yes since we're all going. If it's a school friend party, no since one of us has to stay home with the other kid.
