Do flowers drive your cat crazy? (like catnip?)
Anyone have a cat that went GAGA over flowers? I brought home three bouquets of flowers (gifts for my b-day). The bouquet with the roses got put in one vase. Belle ignored that vase completely. I filled the second vase with your standard mix of flowers that you would get from a supermarket bouquet.
Belle acted as a crazy as if I had given her catnip. She couldn't stay away from the second vase- rubbing her face on and such. She knocked it over once. I caught the vase the second time and just ended up throwing the flowers out so she would not get hurt from a broken vase.
This ever happen to anyone else?

My parent's cat is just like that! She loooooooves flowers. And it was the same thing- cheapo supermarket bouquet. I don't have it online since it was so long ago, but we have an adorable picture of her stretching her neck out to sniff at the flowers. And then when she's done purring and rubbng up against them and nibbling on the petals, she curls up around the vase and sleeps under them. So random!

That is so funny! I guess next time I will try a vase that won't break and see if after a while she will leave it alone.

my cat loveeessssss flowers... i definetly know roses for a fact! he jumped on my dining table to sniff the flowers one day and i left the vase on the floor so it would be easier for him and so nothing would break..  and i saw him all curled up around it.. he NEVER sleeps on the floor  but he did for the roses!!
oh and he loves catnip too.. he goes nuts!
eta: the roses did have baby breath  (i don't know what its called, the little white bud like stuf).. so not sure if its that or the roses..

i've never noticed her get looney over flowers, but, she does go bezerk over celery stalk leaves
