Do I have the only baby that wakes up at a different time every morning?

I honestly thought by now we'd have SOME kind of schedule at 5 months.

Yesterday, it was 7 30. Today, 6. She goes to bed at the same time every night-- give or take a few mins, but the routine ALWAYS starts at 6, bath nights start at 5 30.

She also has no scheduled naps, I guess because she also wakes up at a different time every day. AND I have found I need to be home for the naps, otherwise she will not fall asleep unless she is "put" to sleep.

She still eats on demand, BFing every 2 hours on average.

When am I gonna know what my day is like? I am dying over here.

Abby is just about 5 months and wakes up at a different time every morning- and it varies from 4am to 7am.

DS is almost 8 months and wakes up at different times...anywhere from 7-9. It has only been since about 6.5 months+ that his naps became more consistent, give or take a half hour, regardless of what time he wakes up.

You've just described my DD. She will be 6 mo at the end of this mo. It does affect the whole day because then everything else shifts to later. The length of her naps vary too.

It is definitely annoying. Thankfully, DD is very content so I just try to go with it. I try to somewhat plan my day around her, but I have been trying to make her go with the flow a little too. So far it's working.....Chat Icon time will tell.

Same here...goes to bed every night at the same time, but wakes up in the morning anywhere from 6-7:30. Because of the various waking times, naps vary.

DD seems to nap soooo much better if I am home with her. She will sometimes nap when we are out, but only if she is absolutely exhausted. Nap times also vary greatly. If she takes a short nap (1/2 hour) she looks ready for another one 1 hour later. If she sleeps longer (1 1/2 hours) she is up for 2 hours.

I try to leave the house after her morning nap or after her next nap which is anywhere from 11-1.

I never realized what a "schedule" person I am... Im trying to just go with the flow.

At that age the time DD woke up was pretty random. I think around 8 or 9 months it started being more consistent.

DD just turned 7 months and her schedule is allllll over the place. The only thing that's been pretty consistent recently is her waking up between 4:30-5 to eat, and then she goes back to sleep. She must be growing because she had stopped that for awhile... Chat Icon

I've had to bail on numerous playdates though, because even if she wakes up and eats right on schedule, she always seems to be beyond the point of being tired, or fast asleep, while we're supposed to be at the playdates.

I was beginning to think I was the only person who was having trouble establishing a schedule Chat Icon

Every day is so different...but basically I know she eats every 3-4 hours and takes two naps- but they are at different times- honestly, I just let her sleep when she wants to- I figure if she is not tired, she won't sleep- if she is tired than she needs it...

Sometimes it is difficult, but I am hoping she begins a routine soon- by the time I have to go back to work in August.

ugh-- well, I have about 4 to 5 naps a day since they are so short. All day, I am putting her down or nursing her. I need her sleep patterns to mature!
