Do I tip the Sears repair man.... UPDATED - it's fixed and there was no tipping!
I'm sitting around waiting for the Sears repair man to come and look at my washing machine. It just stopped working and I only got it in September! So its under warranty and I'm having it looked at today. do I tip??
And any guess on when he'll actually show up? My time frame is between 1 and 5 and it's already 2:30!

Unless he does something spectacular, I wouldn't tip. He's getting paid to come out and for the service.

I tip no matter what. I do too unless the service given by the guy/gal sucks.

I practically have a live in Sears repair man. Crap keeps clogging my filter. From kids underware to socks. Heaven help me if one sneaks in the washer without going in the bag. The thing just eats the clothes

Yes, we needed new hoses. The ones we had on the machine were flood proof hoses. They have little ball and check valves in them and they were stuck in the closed position and not letting water into the machine at certain points in the cycle.... DH stopped in Home Depot on his way home from work and $18 later, and 2 new, non-flood proof hoses later, I am back in the laundry business!!
OMG, did I just get excited about doing laundry??
BTW, I did not tip! Although he was there an hour and had the whole machine taken apart, there was really nothing he had to "fix". Our hoses were just bad, and looking back, we should have tried new hoses first

Karen, this is our second Kenmore front laoding washer in 8 years (we just got this new one in September as an upgrade since our old one was so small).
Never had any issues. I was surprissed when I kept getting the darn error codes and it wasn't working. I went online and did a lot of research first to see if I or DH could tackle the problem without having to wait for the Sears repair man. I found a few things, but this one site had me cracking up.... A very nice, step by step pictorial on how to clean the filter when things like baby socks get stuck in it!! (which BTW, we did check out first and it was as clean as a whistle!)....
