Do Not Call Registry-filing a complaint?

For the past two weeks, we have had this Ohio number keep calling us. They seem to call in the morning and at 7pm. We finally picked up the phone because we were home tonight and of course-they hung up Chat Icon

We are on the Do Not Call Registry and I filed a complaint online with them. Anyone know how else I can stop this??

the problem with the registry is that it doesn't cover anything you may have solicited...so if you CC company starts a new program, they can call everyone with that CC because you have the card. and optimum calls me at least twice a week offering new services. stinks.

Are you sure they hung up? If they are using auto dialers, once the computer hears your voice it routes your call to the next available operator. That's why a lot of people think you have to say "Hello" twice, but it's really just a timing issue.

Anyway, any company you have in the past or currently do business with is allowed to call you even if you are on a Do Not Pander list. And there are some companies who don't have to subscibe, like government (think during election time when they call umpteen times) or non profit.

If they are not a legit company, they are not concerned with fines. They pay it and change the phone number and continue on. You could try complaining to the Ohio State Attorney General's office, but I'm guessing it's a calling center in Ohio calling on behalf of another company.
