Re: Do people call you a snob?
no one has ever called me a snob to my face....
my attitude is not snobby, but there are certain things that I am particular about that may come off as snubby...does that make sense?

Yes, and it's mostly because I'm shy and quiet which comes off I guess as being snobbish.
They shyness and quietness disappears once I'm comfortable, and then of course everyone wishes I was shy and quiet again
That is sooooo me!!

I've been called a snob...by my own mother. I don't care what she says, I am the way I am.
My mom calls me a snob, too. We never grew up getting manis/pedis, and if I happen to call her from the nail salon, it's open season!!!

Re: Do people call you a snob?
I admit I'm snobbish, but really just particular about things like food & hotels, however I'm really easy going about most things & I live a very modest lifestyle by choice.
I know what a true snob is VERY WELL, my Dad is the biggest snob I've ever met. He's a food, drink, travel, car, home, cigar & just about everything else snob. He is the only person I've ever known that flew on the Concord everytime he went to Europe, "because a regular plane is for regular people" until they stopped flying it. He frowns upon "the little people" (that don't earn XYZ) as he calls them all the time. His behavior is embarrasing. I have never & will never aspire to be like him.

Doesn't help that I'm from Great Neck - no matter what I do or say, people have a preconceived notion of what kind of person I am having grown up there.
I get the same thing b/c I am from Miller Place. And then I moved to Great Neck, so there is no hope for people thinking I am not snobby

Re: Do people call you a snob?
Friends that I have now told me before they actually met me and got to know me that I looked kind of snobby (not sure what snobby looks like ) but came to realize I am the farthest things from a snob.
I guess we all do that. Watch people and make assumptions about people...you know if there is a new person at work or about other people in our classes. Sometimes assumptions are right, sometimes they are wrong.
