Do they have to drink the milk or...

...can I mix it with her food? I am talking about the amount of milk a one year old is supposed to be drinking a day....she doesnt like taking milk in her sippy cup - she has been BF until now...she will drink water from the sippy cup no problem. My question is if I mix milk with her cereal, veggies for lunch etc and again at dinner will that help at all or does she HAVE to be drinking it?

I would think that the amount of milk th Dr recommends would be hard to get in all her food.....they should be getting around 16 oz a day...I think that would be hard to get into all her food for the day

Personally I think any way you can get it into her is fine. You can also ask the ped how much yogurt, cheese etc. you can give her to make up for some of the milk that she won't drink.

I do some milk in cereal but that's it. My DD doesn't like milk either. She's down to about 6oz a day. She drinks water most of the day and a little juice. Oh well nothing I can do. I can't force it down her. I try to give her a yogurt every day too.

Thanks....glad to hear I am not the only one having to force the milk issue...I guess I will continue BF for another while so at least she is getting some nutrition!!

She does eat a yoghurt every day and loves that.

I guess the most I could be getting into her food is about 8ozs so we are still off
