I was there today and it was wonderful. DD had on a windbreaker, but I had on a tank with pants and was very comforable.
Have fun!
DOnt forget the sunscreen!

We were there today...We got BURNT....so be careful.
IT was windy on the boardwalk but HOT on the sand.
DS had no jacket on and was fine.

IMO being by the water is much cooler than a park. And it also depends on the time you go. I would just bring a light jacket in case it is.

YES this is true. Even if it is cool there. DEF put on sunscreen. It is very easy to get sun or wind burn at the beach

I would definitely go - we were there yesterday - it was very windy and a bit cool but I put a windbreaker on DD and a blanket. And sunscreen - and I still got burned but DD did not.
We are planning on going later today again b.c it was so nice.

If its not windy it should be okay, only reason i would be worried about windy is the sand blowing in DCs face. My friend went last sunday and she said her hair was covered in sand, and she was walking on the boardwalk.
