Do you & your dc have a special "song"?
Ever since Genevieve was little, I sing "You are so beautiful" to her. Kinda lovey dovey, but it always just comes out of my mouth anyway. Like every day, and she loves it

Sometimes my DH and i sing "you are our sunshine" ittsy bitsy spider, and i',m a little tea pot..of course with all of the hand jesters..it's quite funny what our life has become.

yup....since the day we came home from the hospital, for some reason DH & I have been singing the "Growing Pains" theme song to DS
Show me that smile again..dont waste another minute on your crying.....

Well, since she doesn't eat cereal all that much anymore, it does make me a little sad that I don't get to sing our special song that much anymore. It's sung to "Let's Get Physical"....

I usually sing The Eensy Beensy Spider to her and she liked that. And my mom started that "Open Shut Them" song and she likes that alot too.
But my DH def has a song with her - Dani California by the Red Hot Chili Peppers - when she was crying all the time as an infant he would play that and she would instantly quiet down. Even now at 10 months when he plays it on the computer, she sits there and watches the video quietly.

The sappy song is "A New Day"
THe funny song is "Sweet Caroline" but we plug in his first and middle name. He loves it and he I find him singing it at random times. Its too cute.

When we're driving in the car and "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper comes on, I make sure to sing it to her....so that's sort of our song.
Other than that - I like to sing my own rendition of "I like big butts" where I change the words to "I like to spit up"...I'm still working on the whole song though. She doesn't spit up often....

Bryan can be crying is head off and as soon as I sing the ABCs he stops dead!
He loves it. Because they are the same tune, he LOVES Twinkle Twinkle as well.

My mom has a song for me and one for each of my sisters. On our 21st birthday she gave us each a copy of the song, soI thought that was a great tradition that I wanted to pass along to my kids.
My ds is "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson
My dd is "I Hope you Dance" by Matina McBride
My 2nd ds is "Hold My Hand" by Hootie and the Blow Fish.

We don't really have a 'special' song but he loves it when I sing any of the songs that Moose and Zee on Noggin sing
DH and I make up songs for everything too...our current favorite is sung to the tune of "Rehab" ..
"Niko needs to take a nap now, but he says NO NO NO...."
(and we interchange whatever it is Niko doesn't want to do at that current time ... i.e. "Niko needs to go to eat his lunch now but he says NO NO NO"... yeah the possibilities are endless in the world of a baby   )

Since she was born I always seem to make up songs using the "A-team" instrumental theme song as the melody  - I can't seem to get it out of my head.
