Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I never understood this and never will.
WHY DRAG your husband out shopping if he doesnt want to be there ?
and for those that are saying "he loves to come, it's our special time" I dont mean you
Some of these poor guys, following their wives around, looking at their watches, what' the point???
I'd much rather he be as happy as I am (him at home, me shopping around town, win-win ) and even before we had kids, he rarely came clothing shopping. If it was a few items we were shopping around for, that's different, but just "shopping around", never. and I would never expect him to (or want him to!) he even gets stuff done while at home because he SO appreciates that I dont need or want him shopping for clothes with me.
It's a much more pleasant experience for everyone, so why bother ??
A few men this morning were literally standing around while their wives looked at clothing, following them around the store like lost puppies...
someone fill me in, is there a secret power trip involved ? ar these guys given a choice? one poor guy kept asking "are we done yet?"
no offense to anyone.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
for me it's the opposite. DH always WANTS to go, then gets bored really fast
now that it's football season, I'll be shopping alone again!

god i have no idea! i drag him FOOD shopping so i dont have to carry the bags LOL but even those 45 minutes are grueling!
I actually go to a mall i HATE just so I can go alone ( i dont drive on highways ) just so I dont have to ask him for a ride and go with him
My mom does this to my dad almost every weekend. He started bringing a book of CROSSWORD PUZZLES!!

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
If I'm going browsing or for a full out shopping spree, I would never subject DH to that.
He doesn't follow me around in the stores, we split up and he goes to the music/video game stores while I shop, and then we meet up and eat dinner together.
If its gift registry shopping for a friend, he comes to carry the boxes/packages

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
matilde your dad is very creative i bet your mom is the one asking him "can we go now?"
food shopping? oh nooooo, that's MYY TIMME !!!!!! I have my list, my coupons and my agenda, zip in-zip out. my husand likes to stroll through every SINGLE AISLE aimlessly and just pick things up off any shelf, give the kdis whatever their little hearts desire at any moment so every dollar I save, he spends $5
His "job" is to unload the car when I get home. works perfectly for me (and put it all away inside)
we just rejoined BJs which he LOVES, but I let him have his "boy time" with the kids and they can stroll the aisles all they want (Without me ) but with my little list.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
My ex boyfriend hated going shopping with me when we were dating. I didn't care, he could stay home. Unless I was getting back at him for making me walk around a computer store, shopping is my de-stressing time, and I didn't need him there.
DH on the other hand likes going shopping with me. We run errands together, and if we end up at a clothing store (like NY and Co) he's ok with it, and will sometimes make suggestions. If he's got something else to do, like watch football, I'll go by myself.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I try not to drag him anywhere unless absolutely necessary (this means my friend's events & weddings).
If he wants to go, great. If not, forget it. There are people who make the best of a situation they don't want to be in. My husband is not that person.

my husband likes to go shopping. I would never drag him if he didn't want to go, I don't understand the reasoning behind that. Maybe they want someone to carry their bags for them?

DH never goes to the mall with me. He HATES it.
I go shopping alone or with my friends period.
He goes to the mall once a year and that is a few days before christmas to shop for everyone.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I try not to because I can never do what I have to do when he comes. Hahahaha. I feel rushed. For example he wanted to come food shopping with me on Thursday and I ended up telling him go get what you want and I ran around and got everything on my list because he just kept following me and I need to go back and forth because I forget things sometimes. I never really take him to go shopping at the mall unless he needs to get things also.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
NO WAY IN HE!!
even if by some odd chance we do end up in a store together- he normally goes to look at what he wants and I do the same
I don't see how it would be fun to drag him shopping
besides- I do best shopping alone

This is exactly what we do. Honestly I would rather go alone. I actually get done much quicker. Especially food shopping if he comes with me it takes forever.

Oh Lord no! I LOVE to shop alone! I never, ever, ever, ever shop with my husband unless I have a masochistic wish to hear him whine for the rest of the day!

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I only shop alone. Neither one of us enjoys it, and if he's there huffing and sighing, I will only be more miserable.
I learned a long time ago that forcing him to do something that only I find enjoyable makes it a lousy experience for both of us.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
vinny *loves* to go. and he doesn't even get bored or annoyed -- he comes, helps me shop, gives his input (happily) and carries ALL the packages. i would just assume go alone - i enjoy shopping alone but he likes to come along. he loves to look in pottery barn with me while i'm in the middle of going from store to store for clothes. weird - even they guy i was with before vin loved clothes shopping too.
i'm also quite lucky - weddings, parties, events, etc. -- even a room full of women. you can plop my husband in any situation and he'll adjust wonderfully. i will *NEVER* forget taking him to my friend's wedding (ahem, melissa) and him dancing with melissa's friend shaba (sp?) -- there's my husband tearin' it up with shaba who was wearing TEAL from head to toe --- a big TEAL suit. it was hysterical. and he had a BLAST. then, there he is salsa dancing with melissa! THEN - i take him to my greek friend's wedding and there he is doing the greek dance with all of my friend's relatives and the belly dancer. he knew NO ONE there aside from the bride, groom, me and one other couple (melissa and pete who were with us).
in fact, i was just admiring melissa's album on LIW last night and in there are pics of him and her dancing to marc anthony at nina's wedding! LOL!
i'm lucky - i never have to worry about him in social settings. he is very well-rounded and easy going.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I cannot shop with DH...he is in an all-fired rush to get out of the store. Unless it's Target and he can browse the snack aisles....otherwise it is a contest as to how fast can we get out of the store.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
I have been lately because...well...I'm just a witch
Seriously, I would rather go alone and do most of my shopping in the city during/after work. But, if I have to go to the mall or go for DS, he comes because I pick out 'baby' clothes

DH likes going to the mall, but doesn't like waiting around in the store while I'm shopping. We usually split up and each go to the stores we like.

Re: Do you DRAG your husband out shopping ???
Never! he is miserable. However, I can't buy him clothes, because he's so picky about the way clothes fit him, he'll deal with trips to the stores for himself with me, but there's no stopping at anything else that isn't for him.
My SIL drags my BIL to the mall once a week, he's so miserable, I don't understand the point.
