Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Do you ever wish it were more or less common? Easier to spell or pronounce? Had better or different nicknames?
Did you have cold feet on a name that was pretty unique or really common and ever regret that you did?
Thanks.

I totally regret spelling it Meagan and not Megan! Everyone spells it wrong and I couldn't get as many personalized things
I also have moments when I wished I went with Emma, but worried it was too common.
I also overthing everything

Nope. I love the name Lily. I think it's common enough that people know it, but not so common that she'll have a ton of friends with the same name. And I think it suits her really really well.

yes...and no. but i'm a teacher and choosing a name (espeically a boy's was nearly impossible!)
my DD is Lily (well her REAL name is Elizabeth) but we only ever call her Lily. it has become popular but i don't care
DS's name is Quinn- it's more unusual and i do have times when i wonder if it's too weird or if kids will tease him b.c it is a little off-track than say the name Michael. i just could not go with a traditional boy's name and not assiciate it with kids at school so that was the major reason i chose it. on the whole i am am glad it's his name since i love it. :)

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Nope no regrets.
Ds is Jacen (pronounced Jason). Sure cvs gets it wrong when they call but they also got my maiden name Brady wrong too.
I love the nickname Jace, so no regrets. Yes it's an unusual spelling (star wars reasoning behind that), but i like it and i don't care at all when people spell it Jason or otherwise. It's bound to happen. No reason to get upset over the small things.

We named DS Wilson and I love his name. I love that is it uncommon enough that he won't be one of 10 Wilsons in his class; I also love that it doesn't stick out as super unusual (at least to me )

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Yep. DD#2 is named Erin and while it suits her, I don't really like it. It rhymes too much with DD#1's name (Marron). I wanted to name her Jacquelyn and call her Jackie. But I didn't want people to pronounce her name Jack-a-lynn. I wante it Ja-kwa-lynn, with the "qu" pronounced. Even DH didn't say it right, so I ditched it. I was so undecided on a name that she didn't even have one til the day before we brought her home. I'm still not happy with her name and keep telling DH that I'm going to call her Jackie anyway.

Not at all... we wanted a name that wasn't so popular but not weird or out there either. We went through a ton of names before deciding on Sienna and it fits her perfectly!

My DD is Ava. While I guess they'll be a bajillion other Avas that she'll know, I still love it and don't second guess it. She's a true Ava.

No regrets here...we named DD Gracelyn. Although Grace is quite popular; you don't hear too many Gracelyn's & we call her Gracie or can call her Grace as well.
DS is Jack (not John) & although its on the popular side, no regrets either; we've always liked the name.

No regrets whatsoever. DD's name is Shaylie. We wanted something different for her. Besides DH and I are Michael & Jennifer, you kind of want something different for you DC

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Nope, we named DS Edward, which is a really traditional but not common (anymore) name. We call him Eddie and I LOVE the old school-ness of his name but I love that its not necessarily unique or out there. Traditional and classic yet uncommon.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
DD is Claire and I have no regrets whatsoever with her name. It is familiar but not overly common. But, more importantly, DH and I both love the name and it suits her perfectly.
DS is Owen and I love the name. It is also familiar without being too common. My one regret about his name is that DH does not love the name-he was just okay with it.
However, we could not agree on a name we both loved so we each picked out a favorite name (the other couldn't hate it though) and we made a bet. The winner got to use their name. Needless to say, I won the bet and I think the name is perfect for him-cute and fun.
Actually, I have another "regret". I think Claire and Owen are on the way up so I think they will end up being very popular in the next few years. So, though I don't think they will have a lot of kids in their classes with the same name, I think there will be a lot of kids with the same name a couple years younger. But, who cares.

My kids are Declan and Ronan. I love both of the names but I don't feel the nicknames are too good and it sort of irks be when others shorten their names. I don't say anything because I KNOW its nitpicky but I usually use their full names or terms of endearment rather than nicknames

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Out of the 4 choices that we have on our list for DS (due soon) DH & I aren't in love with any of them.. they are just ok to us. There aren't any names that we really love out there for boys. I am hoping we don't end up regretting the one we will choose, but I know we won't love it.

DD's name is Lucy and I have not one regret about naming her that. In fact, I have fallen more in love with the name since she's born. I hope we're as pleased with the next baby's name. We're having so much trouble with it, the baby may be nameless for the first few days of life. lol

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
Nope. I love my DD's name, I've loved it since I was a kid. It suits her perfectly, and it's not terribly popular but it's a name everyone's heard of (I usually get "aw, that was my grandma/great aunt/etc's name").
No idea what #2's name will be though.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
I went with a pretty unique name and have gotten so many compliments. I am so happy we went with the name we chose. We thought long and hard about it, we didn't tell anyone and wanted to make sure it was fitting when we saw our DD for the first time.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
I love my DD name and have no regrets. I wanted a longer first name since my last name is so short and I wanted a name that was not at all common. I would be surprised to find many named Emerson Avery. I really love it and it suits my DD perfectly!

DD is Genevieve, and I dont regret it one bit! Some poeple cant pronounce it but she's good at correcting people
Theres never anything in stores that has her name on it, but thats ok with me. If I really want something personalized, I just pay extra to have it done.

Re: Do you ever have any regrets about the name you chose for DC?
nope, I also love my sons name...it suits him perfectly. We almost did his middle name as his first, instead of vice versa and I am glad we didn't. His middle name is Nicholas and I dont see him as that LOL For my DD's name, we picked one that we both loved. I am still slightly unsure only b/c I dont love how people may shorten it (their are two ways, I love one of the ways, the other I dont). Also, it ends with an e, but can end with an a, and already people are calling it with the a spelling and that's not going to be her name. but overall, it is the one we wanted for our DD, so we are sticking with it.

I think if you stick to their full names it will catch on.
I have 2 "Deckies" in my fam. Sometimes one is Deck..the other one, always Decki...but they don't seem to mind.
I am happy with Joshua Ethan. It suits him and even though its popular, its pretty timeless and not trendy. He loves the Dolly Parton "Joshua" song.
Our next boy is Julian, which we love.
Girl...like Crankypants...one of us is going to settle and that doesn't make me too happy.
