Do you feel airline employees abuse the new security laws?
Heres a story:
My husband and I flew to a wedding in Colorado. Our reservations had been made for us by someone else and we wanted to change the time going home as it was at 6AM and out of Denver when we would be in Colorado Springs which means we would have had to leave our hotel around 3AM.
The agent said OK it will be $150 each. My husband told her that was ridiculous and almost as much as the original ticket cost. She got very snappy and nasty with him so he asked what is your name? She said You do not need my name and continue to speak to me and i will have you arrested!!! I swear he was not doing anything wrong: no cursing or yelling just trying to make the change for less than $300. I pulled him away and we walked to security. Ends up she marked him for extra security!!
We were so pizzed. First, I highly doubt anyone who was a security risk would draw attention to themselves arguing over pricing. 2nd isn't that wasting resources to flag someone because they had an issue??? This made me think about things since that woman died in the Phoenix airport.

All I have to say is WOW. That definitely sounds like abuse of security laws. And doesn't she have to give you her name?

absolutely without a doubt they abuse their "power"...they don't have to provide customer service cause if they don't like what you are doing/saying they can call up security!

you should be able to call corporate and tell them when you were there, with a physical description of this woman, and the fact that she refused to give her name. you HAVE to complain about this or it will keep happening to other people! good luck!

I work for an airline and let me tell you, that was completely inappropiate. there is always someone else you can speak to from the airline.
Also, the majority of time we are supposed to wear name tags, but i would definitely make a complain with a higher up to see what they can do.
