do you go back to check if you did things like lock the door etc

lock thedoor, turn off your headlights, closed thetrunk, unplugged my straightenign iron, unplugged regular iron, coffe pot etc...

I do this all the time.Dh says i am ocd sometimes just forget if i did it or not.Anyone else?

I used but I established routines so I stopped worrying or going back.

I do sometimes, but my DH is a nut when it comes to this. He will lock the door and then pull on it several times to make sure its locked. He will lock our side door and then check it about a hundred times before we go to bed. Before we leave the house he goes around making sure everything is turned off..not once, not twice but about three times. Even when we are in a hotel he closes the door and then pulls on it and pushes it to make sure its closed. He's nuts and def. has OCD when it comes to these things.

I do stuff like that every once in a while.

If you do that ALL the time, then it is possible you have OCD.

No but I really should. I cannot tell you how many times I have left my straightening iron on, sometimes I don't realize it until the next day!

Never, but DH on the other hand will check everything twice.

sometimes I check the front door before we go to bed to make sure it's locked - only if I remember to look.

OMG Noel..you and Kim should be best friends!!!!

We were all just yelling at her the other day. She left the house, my mom was already with me so she was alone. We get half way to the school when she says OMG YOU GOTTA GO BACK! I am like why????? I dont know if the straightener if off, I think I left the window open, the stove is on..Umm..did u even use the stove today Kim??? Of course not!!! HAHA

She is NUTS when it comes to this. Goes back in literally like 100 times. If she goes out, she will call my mom and ask her to check the straightener like 100 times. Its insane!!!!

And yes, I think shes OCD too! HAHAHAHHA

I check the door to see if it is locked but DH always has to double check it. THats his thing. But i am always triple and quadruple checking to see if the stove or oven is off if i have used it, the coffee pot and my straightning iron. I have been halfway to my destination and turned around just to check and make sure that i unplugged my straightning iron.

I used to be really bad about checking and rechecking my Iron and Curling Iron.

I am now only slightly OCD about them now!

I literally have to say that day and date to myself in the bathroom before I leave. I say "today is Friday, November 2nd and everything is unplugged. DH says I am insane. I guess I am a little bit

yes, I do it all the time! For me its because I am also doing a million things at once that I forget!

if i cant remeber if something is locked or turned off, Im worried the entire day and cannot function until it is checked, usually it is locked or turned off anyway and I waste time checking though.

i always double check to make sure I set the alarm & lock the door. Other things, not so much

About some things but not others...
I constantly have to re-check:
If the door is locked
if the stove is off
if the alarm clock is set properly
if my straightening iron is off
if all the candles in the house are blown out

I do this quite often. It's really annoying but I can't help it sometimes.

No. Well not if it's my stuff. I do make sure DH has turned off the stove & oven because he leaves them on a lot.

OMG< I do this too. I try to keep myself in check and move slowly when leaving the house.

My big things to check are

toaster oven (worst one, worries me most)
stove
curling iron (supposedly has auto off, but I still worry)
light on in attic?
doors locked and shut (I even question did I shut the door, as if I ever left with teh door open!)
iron (not so much do I worry b/c it has auto off)

Those are my biggies. It is very bad, I hate worrying about those things when I go out. So I try to move slowly when checking to make a mental mark of of the fact that it is done.

Wow I can't believe how many of us do this. When I lived at home, I would call my mom almost everyday to see if I left the hair iron on....

when we go out at the same time, DH has to do a double check for me since I can't believe my own eyes. That way we are both sure all is good.
