When I first started, there were a lot of people about my age that liked to go out but they moved on or were relocated to our Jersey office.

When we were a smaller dept we used to go to happy hour all the time.
Now we are a 50+ department and no one ever wants to organize it or invite everyone and it got too complicated.

Depends where I am working-- but, as I get older-- I want to go to happy hour less and less. When I was younger-- I never missed it!

Same here!!!!!
For most of the youngins, its like every week. Then they come in the next day looking fine. I go and have one or 2 drinks and I look like crap the next day!

honestly, I have zero desire to set foot in any bar or club these days. I am so over that whole scene!!

I only go with one of my co-workers. We try to go once a month to pick each others brains and just BS. It's fun. We get to talk about things we cant really talk about in the office

If someone is leaving we usually all get together for a big farewell happy hour.
Other than that, maybe once or twice a year for no reason at all....

I used to love happy hour! We used to go to Chelsea Street in East Meadow (is that even there anymore?) and they had those GIANT barrells of peanuts all over the place (in the damn shells!). Everyone used to fill my pocketbook with them, yes, real mature. I haven't done that in a dog's age! I miss it, but I don't know that I'd do it again. If I were single I probably would. Or if any of my co-workers were under 60 that would help, too!

My favorite thing to do after work is go home. I am not really into socializing with work people outside of work.

When I first started here, yes. For at least the first year we all went out every Friday. Not anymore and I'm so glad...it only lead to trouble anyway.

yes, i am the designated "social chair" so i have to go by default. we don't do happy hour, usually a night out w/ the young crowd once a month or once every other month.
