Do you have a picky eater?...for ages 6 months- 1 yr...
im just curious if anyone has a picky eater like my 11 month old... she likes certain foods but refuses alot... she literally will kncok the spoon out of my hand and makes a face...
my first child ate everything at that age...
i thought the pickiness started as a toddler not before...but i guess not...

I'm there w/ you. My DD who's 3 ate anything/everything & still does..lima beans; spinach; peas; sauerbraten; keilbasa, etc.
DS was a problem/picky eater from the get go. He was BF & I started solids at 5 months; he wanted no part...he finally took to them at 7.5 months.
But was very picky w/ what he ate (Jar food).
He's 15 months now & still only eats jar food & bananas & yogurt...that's it. When we give him other food he'll throw it off his tray; shake his head; put his hand up to his mouth, etc.
It's so frustrating.

DD is 1. Refuses a lot, prefers grazing as opposed to eating meals, so does not eat large quantities really . ..

Re: Do you have a picky eater?...for ages 6 months- 1 yr...
My DS just turned 1 and mealtime is such a struggle. He is just not that into food most days, other than pasta and cheerios. He refuses to be spoon fed anymore either. I keep trying different foods and he will eat them, but just not large amounts. Some days, he will completely refuse something that he seemed to like the day before. He has a dairy allergy so that limits what he can eat too. I get so stressed out over it and hate seeing how much other babies his age are eating. He's underweight also, so that makes it even worse.

I have two kids that have ZERO appetite - mealtimes are always a struggle. One is 6 mos andthe other is almost 3. I all day over this. I, on the other hand, LOVE to eat so I have noidea where they got this from

Maybe she is ready for table food?
If DS was supposed to have peas and oatmeal for dinner and he wouldn't eat the peas that night - i'd put the peas on first, the top it w/ oatmeal and sneak the peas into his mouth.

Re: Do you have a picky eater?...for ages 6 months- 1 yr...
my son is picky in the sense that if he's not in the mood for it, he won't eat it
he loves avocado, but if he does't want it, he slaps my hand away, but if I offer him something else, he may eat it up.
he does this with everything. one day he just got tiired of farina and refused to eat it. I gave him a tiny piece of the french toast I was making for everyone else and he ate a whole bunch of it.
I *try* not to get too crazy about how much food he will eat b/c I know he's getting so much of his nutrients from bm/formula. if he's hungry and doesn't want food, he'll simply drink more.
also, the heat affects his desire for table food a lot. could that also be the case with your dd?
