Do you have any tricks for giving eye drops?

I try to stand behind Clover when she is on the changing table so she looks up, but she's caught on to me. What else could I try?

Eye drops are a 2-man job in our house, so I'm of no help. Chat Icon

My cousin recommended putting them in the corner of their eyes and letting them roll in. It's too hard to get them to keep their eyes open.

Since DH is never around to help, I generally kneel over them and keep their upper body pinned down with my forearm. I use that hand to hold the bottle of drops and use the other hand to try to pry the eyelids open. I hate having to do it that way but otherwise the drops never get in.

Ped had us do it this way:
1 Lie wriggling baby on her back
2 With one hand hold hers down together over her head (this will also keep her face up towards the ceiling)
3 With other hand put drops in inside corners of eyes (its ok if she squints and the drops just stay there)
4 Hold in place face up to ceiling until she blinks her eyes or opens

Drops will distribute themselves over the eyes then
