Do you have cell phone insurance??

I have never gotten it for myself but I did for my daughter -- and thank God I did because she unknowingly dropped her phone in the driveway and I drove right over it.

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting the new Droid and was debating whether or not to get insurance.

Yes. I had to put in a claim earlier this year and it saved me $300. DH has had to use it twice!

When I got the regular phone with no bells and whistles, no, I did not get the insurance.

Now that I have the Blackberry, yes, I do have the insurance. There is more that can go wrong with the phone. I am really glad that I got it because I have needed to use it.

If you have something like the Droid -- yes absolutely without a doubt -- I would get the insurance.

Remember - if you damage your phone, to get a new one you would have to pay 100% full price. I've had that happen to me before and was quite upset. I had to pay $185 for a phone that was so crappy and was "FREE" for 2 year activation customers, because I did not have the insurance and the phone I DID damage had a retail price of $350.

The retail price of the droid without any contract pricing is upwards of about $600. If you damage your droid, that is what you would have to pay to get a new one without insurance.

DH & I have it and have used it about 3 times now...we do have to pay $50...but sure beats the alternative pricing on phones.
