do you have to shop around for home equity loans like you do for a mortgage?
how do you go about getting a home equity loan? do you shop around( like through bankrate.com) or do you just go to the bank that currently holds your mortgage loan?
is the process long? any paperwork i need to have ready?
are there closing costs? apprx how much?
any hidden catches or things i should look out for when i sign the dotted line?
