home equity loans, who'd you use/what rate?
considering a home equity loan, we did one a few years back but consolidated it when we refinanced over a year ago. We used Pentagon Federal Credit Union for our original home equity loan (w/ a 6.25% rate, but that was over 3 yrs ago). I'll be calling them for rates but wanted to see who everyone else has used.
please share who you have your home equity loan with, what rate if you don't mind sharing (fixed or variable), and when you received the rate/loan.
and has anyone used Bethpage Federal Credit Union? I remember pricing them for the refinance and I think they had low rates, curious if anyone has had experience w/ them?

We have our mortgage and HELOC with BFCU. Nothing but good things to say about them.
Right now their HELOC rates are sitting at 3.99%.

I tried to go through them for a mortgage and they were HORRIBLE!!! they were trying to get me to sign paperwork that stated the wrong mortgage amount and just kept arguing with me that "most people just sign them" thank God I switched!! they were soooo wrong! I have heard of other issues with them as well from other people. I wouldn't go with them if you don't have too
