Do you have to tell your employer what you want your last day to be?
I want to try to work as along as I can and then hopefully even work from home until I deliver for the last two weeks. Do I need to tell my employer that or can I wait to see how I feel towards the end????

You can share your intentions with your employer, but I don't think you need to have an end date set in stone. I told my firm as long as everything is going ok and I feel fine, I plan to work up until the very end.

Re: Do you have to tell your employer what you want your last day to be?
at least for me (SB university), I need to file paperwork for FMLA and maternity leave (along with insurance forms adding Scone) at least a couple weeks prior to my due date.... BUT, I do not have to give them a firm leave date. I want to work until the very end, so I can call them up once the baby is born and THEN start maternity leave.
I was instructed to just leave the start date blank and sign the forms.
I was told that if I delay filing the paperwork until well after delivery, NYS disability benefits may be DENIED! Also, there are several areas your OB has to fill-out ahead of time, so it's not a quicky paperwork job... the packet takes a lot of time
