Do you have to wash the crib bumper?
Im in a total "wash everything" kind of phase right now lol. Do you have to wash the bumper? Also, Im not due for another month but would it be ok to put the crib sheet on the mattress now or is it too soon?

Re: Do you have to wash the crib bumper?
I don't know about washing the bumpers b/c we're not using them, but as for the sheets, I washed a bunch and put them in clean bins. I just wanted to make sure they were clean and freshly put on when the baby comes home.

Re: Do you have to wash the crib bumper?
We only used the bumper as decoration and never had it in the crib at the same time as the baby so I never washed it. However, I did wash the breathable bumper.
The crib sheet you can wash and put in there now. A friend of mine put a clean towel in the crib over the crib sheet just to keep it from getting dust (and I think dog hair since they have a dog). I thought that was a really good idea.
We didn't use the crib for months since DD slept in the rock n play in our room so stuff was just washed and in her room for a long time before she used it. She was fine and is fine. :)

Re: Do you have to wash the crib bumper?
I washed my bumpers & sheets, but I'm waiting until the baby is ready to go into his crib before I put them on. I think if you cover the sheets with a towel or something like the pp mentioned it should be fine though.

I washed the bumper, it looks fine. I washed everything a month or ago and put it all on the crib and I keep the door shut to the nursery.

Re: Do you have to wash the crib bumper?
I washed the bumper. Although the items are in a package and wraped, I had heard that while stored in the storage rooms, the stores sometimes spray for critters. Yes the spray probably doesn't get into the packages but it didn't sit right with me so I washed everything.

If you're using a breathable bumper, I'd wash it.
I didn't wash the regular bumper with either of my first two because I was afraid of it losing its shape. I'll probably do the same this time around.
