Do you have your Rear Facing carseat Tethered?

We just installed the Britax Marathon in my car yesterday. From what i've read, it's one of the few car seats that says to tether RF carseats (though i could be wrong since i haven't really researched it a ton). However, i've come across very mixed opinions on tethering when the seat is RF and, since it's going to be a PITA b/c of where the tether is in my car and where we want the seat, i'm considering not tethering (its in there, extremely secured, with the LATCH). Just wanted to know what others did though.

Thanks!

Britax is the only seat that can be rear tethered. There are some advantages to in by the design, but it is not absolutely necessary.

That said, I always rear-tether the seats.

Re: Do you have your Rear Facing carseat Tethered?

we had installed our marathon on our own a couple of weeks ago w/out the rear tether. we didn't even realize it was an option. today we went to the car seat safety inspection, and they told us our seat was installed properly, but that britax was the only manufacturer that made the rear tether, so they tethered it for us. i prefer it much more. the seat was very secure before, but now i feel even better. it gets the seat to a better angle as well.

Sunshine Kids Radians allow tethering rear facing as well.

Our Blvd is tethered.

This was one of the big selling points for me for the Britax seats (I bought ours 7 and 4 years ago, so they were the only ones). I had both of mine tethered. Even though it was secure without the tether, it felt so much more secure with the tether. Tethered, it didn't move at all, in any direction. Much less than the allowable 1" of movement.
