Do you let people buy whatever they want for DC at xmas
Just curious how i should plan xmas this year. DS is the first grandchild and my first so i have a feeling as much as it doesnt make since he is gonna get overwhelmed in gifts. Should i give people an idea of what i would like him to have or say hey bring it on it doesnt matter. I dont have much space considering we are renting out our basement and all. TIA.

my mother always sends me a check.
my sisters get him whatever they want...and it usually works out. they think outside of what the norm is for him.

Yup. If they ask I'll mention what they like or what size they wear, but other than that I leave it up to them. If it's something we don't like or can't use we either exchange it for something else or donate it.

Same here! My MIL is notorious for taking tags off of everything despite us politely suggesting she not do that and 9 out of 10 times she buys the wrong size or something covered with Scooby Doo from head to toe, so we donate a few things each year.

same here, although if gifts come up, I do ask that they dont get him anything huge bc we live in a co-op and dont have a ton of storage space.

i have only told people what size clothes to get and my one toy rule... no high pitch wistles which drive my two dogs insane and that keeps dh awake all day... i did make suggestions to my mother of toys i think wouldbe good for him or that i would like which she has said she would keep in mind to tell my siblings.... so we will see
