Do you love where you live?

I really do...I am so happy we bought where we did.
My neighbors are really nice and we have the beach ten minutes away, a preserve a ten minute walk away...and I have seen all kinds of wildlife since moving out here - various birds, deer, turkey, turtles....I think it's amazing sometimes that we have all this right at our feet and NYC is less than an hour away!

I really, truly love where we live.
I love that its sort of a "secret place".
I love the history, yesterday we had our neighbor over for brunch, his family was one of the original families from when the beach club started in the 1940's, He told great stories about the neighborhood & how he & his siblings & friends played in the woods that were where my house is now.
Since we moved here DH & I have hiked or walked 2 to 10 miles every single weekend all year in the preserve that surrounds our neighborhood-we have turkeys, deer, foxes too.
I love that our neighborhood has a low key vibe, no pressure to keep up with anyone, everyone waves or stops to say hi.
Our other neighbors got a power boat(nothing fancy) & the first day they went fishing they brought us delicious fluke.
The kids play in the street, we have teen nights at our clubhouse, kids campout on the beach-the whole neighborhood looks after the kids.
There is nothing better than swimming in our lake on a hot summer day.
I love that our friends from western LI say it feels like they are on vacation when they stay with us.
yup, i'm in love.

ETA: To answer the original question. Yes we love where we are. We're close to everything. Shopping, the lake and our families. The neighborhood is so quite. And although we haven't had BBQ's with any of them all the neighbors are friendly. I would be happy if we never moved.

yes, DH & I always say how happy we are we've choose where we live. I love being so close to everything, I love that there are like a millions kids that play outside, I love our neighbors, I love everything about it

Yes, I love where we chose to live - it's a quaint neighborhood, nice neighbors and close proximity to lots of shopping.

I loved, loved, loved where we used to live.

It's only been a few weeks, but it's going to take some time for me to like our new town.

We moved in May, and we thought we loved where we used to live, but now we really love where we live now, LOL. We love to just sit on our front porch, and listen to the birdies chirp. Such a nice neighborhood to walk. Peaceful...thats what I love.

Yes we love where we live! It is close to everything. Close to the beaches, easy to take a drive out east to the wineries or Riverhead. Close to shopping, etc. We love our neighbors!

I didn't think I would love where I live but I do. My town has history and character. Main Street is a short walk from my house as well as the beach. I just love the charm.

Love my town. Very conveinent to major highways, restaurants, shopping, etc. The school district is good and the best thing about where I live...sidewalks!! I always wanted a house with sidewalks down the streets. Cheesy I know!

Yes.

I adore my neighborhood. It's a cul-de-sac, where everyone keeps their home in top condition.

My neighbors are great. It's a little Beaver Cleaver, but it's nice to have that in these times.

We are close to shopping, beaches and great resturants.
Parkways aren't too far.
Lirr is only 2 minutes from our house.

Our dog loves it too! Wide open streets to get walked on. HUGE back yard to run around and terrorize the birds and squirels!

We rent right now but we definitely want to buy in the town that we're in. We LOOOVE it, it's close to everything and we just think it's so cute. Fh is from upstate and when he first moved down here, he hated everything about Long Island, now, he doesn't want to leave the town or LI!

Yes, but it's not the best place for us long-term. We are going to be moving back to LI next year.

I love my town. I moved to the town I grew up in so I can't complain too much. lol We are close to everything and our neighbors are all nice. We don't plan on leaving here for a while but when we are ready we are hoping to move to a bigger home in the same town b/c we love the town so much.

I used to love where we lived on LI. We loved being 5 mins from the beach and a quick train ride to NYC! But hated how far we were from any parkways (we were on the south shore) and of course how expensive it was to live there.

No, I can't wholeheartedly say I do.

We can't wait to get a "real" house where we don't have to live on top of our neighbors. The neighborhood is just not what I am used to. I want a nice place that I can bring up my daughter in.

I want a yard that she can play in

We just moved 2 months ago. I love my house, but I just really like my neighborhood. I don't love it.

Out of all the places I have lived, I liked where I grew up in NJ and where I lived in CT the most.

I like where I have lived on Long Island (two different towns, both in Suffolk), but things about it bother me...Like both towns where we have lived do not have sidewalks at all except on the main roads.

I grew up with sidewalks on all the streets and it really bothers me that most of the neighborhoods where I am in Suffolk do not have sidewalks. DH and I will go for walks or bike rides and almost get sideswiped by cars...

I love where I live, its a bit like Queens with two family houses, and its only about 10 minutes from the Big City Centre, and only 5 minutes walk from the local shops, so we have butchers, greengrocers, a fishmonger, local shops that sell stuff. We also have pubs, restaurants, bars. We have a park with a little zoo only 5 minutes walk from my house. We have a vegan/organic supermarket, we have an indoor soft playground with a wonderful cafe. We have lots of things for families to do, lots for young single people to do. Its a wonderful place to live, an urban village!!!

I love where we live. We are on a dead end street with no other house on our section, so it is like a private road for us. At the same time, all our neighbors are just so friendly & everyone keeps their houses looking nice. On a weekend, it is very likely to see people outside working on something.

We are close to all stores, schools (2 miles), parkways, LIRR & the beach! Honestly could not ask for anything else

We love our neighborhood but always knew it was short-term.

I worry that when we move, that we won't have the strong community feel we have now. And that our neighbors won't be friendly. We want to be in a place we can really be part of the town.

But for now, we are a few blocks from the beach & boardwalk, a few blocks from the center of town, a few blocks from everything really. It's a great walking or bike-riding town which is exactly what we needed to get my Brooklyn-raised husband acclimated to Long Island.

I love where we live....I love our steet, our neighborhood, the character that our block has and our neighbors. I love that we are walking distance from a main street and that we are close to all major highways (2 min to the 135 which can take us anywhere).
