Do you need the "Tummy Time Mat" for tummy time?
Can you use the Boppy instead or is it too big? TIA!

IMO the tummy mat is a waste of $. I rarely used it. You can do tummy time anywhere.

Yeah, you can do "tummy time" anywhere, but I wouldn't use the Boppy...it really is too high for that purpose.

No you dont need a special mat.
AJ could have cared less about the stuff on her mat. It was just a soft place. Often I'd end up trying tummy time on the bed or on a folded blanket.

You don't need the mat. I either put DS down on the area rug or I'll put down a large blanket.

I had a hand me down mat and I used it twice. DS was fine doing tummy time on the play mat or on a blanket.

I had one with the mini boppy pillow that I liked. However, I also used a plain blanket.

You don't NEED one....we used the Boppy and the mat with the stuff hanging from it...forget what it's called!!!!

Like I said in Scarlet's post...
I do a lot of TT with DD on my chest. I sing to her and we babble back and forth. It holds her attention and keeps her focused on my face.

I do this a lot too.
I also do it randomly on any flat surface throughout the day, but he doesn't like it as much.
I also have the Tiny Love gym that I started putting him on for tummy time as well...but really I think any flat surface will do.

I have the boppy tummy time mat, which comes with like a "baby boppy" to prop them up on... Now, I had a baby who hated being on her belly (she really just started tolerating it around 9 months), but IMO this was a waste. You can put them on the bellies on any of the other mats. I RARELY used it-- and it's another thing taking up space.
