Do you own a treadmill?

What brand? I am looking to buy a new one to replace a really old model I have now that is not even being made anymore, but I am at a loss. Each time I think I've found one, I read on another site that something is wrong with it.
I found one that people gave great reviews, but on treadmilldoctorstore.com, they trashed the brand and said buyers will be replacing parts a lot. I don't want to throw $1,000 down the drain. Can anyone recommend their treadmill? TIA

I would like to know this info too.

I have been looking for a used one - but I think I might $uck up the money issue and get a new one.

Any info would be great!
Thanks for posting this.

Re: Do you own a treadmill?

My cousin used to work for gym source (he'd sell equipment to all sorts of actors, and gyms). He recommended True treadmills.

I purchased mine several years ago, and I still use it and love it (I run 3 times a week).

We purchased from Gym Source in Southampton, they also have a location in Manhatten.

Here's their website:

http://www.gymsource.com/index.html

I can't remember the cost of the treadmill, it was between $2,000 - $4,000..there are many different True models, so I'm sure many different prices. I'll ask my DH the price when he gets home.

I have bad knees, and never once have I had any problems with them since using this treadmill.

I got mine "used" from Craigslist. It was one of those cases where the people bought the treadmil and then used it for a clothes hanger... so we got it in excellent barely used condition for a great price. The brand is proform.

Re: Do you own a treadmill?

i got mine brand new for $200 at d ick's sporting goods. it was the "lowest" model, but it had incline, programs, heart rate monitor, etc so i didn't need anything fancier. and if the motor blows in 7 years, i'll just get another one! it beats spending 1K+ now and it beaking down later anyway.

I have a Proform as well and it does everything I need it to. My friend actually gave it to me since it was a clothes hanger for her, so since it was free I can't complain. Like I said, it is perfect for me.
