yes, came with fios. i like to call from the house phone better when i am at home versus my cell, but i usually only call DH, my mom, and my sister on it (rest of people i call usually on cell)

Yup. I loathe cell phones and rarely have mine out so everyone knows to call me on the landline.

Yes, only becuase I have such cr@ppy cell service at my house. If the service was better I would kill the land line

Yep! Add in the guy who had the number before me must've never ever paid a bill and we get all his collections calls.
This. I get calls for Tomas Cristco all day long. If I ever meet this Tomas Cristco I am going to give him a beating with my phone for not paying his da mn bills.

Yes - because my cell phone doesn't work at my house, so I don't really have a choice. In fact, ever since we moved to this house, I basically never use my cell phone anymore since it's useless to me so much of the time.

Yes but it is through optimum, not through the actual phone company. So if the electricity goes out...no phone!

You should have gotten a UPS that would give you about 8 hours of phone usage if the power went out.

yes...i know it sounds crazy, but i just don't trust cell phones near my brain...
we have a landline and each have prepaid phones that stay in our cars for emergencies.

Me too--my cell phone gets so hot (I can talk to my mom for almost an hour!)
but I do try & have my phone near me for incoming texts, but I have to make an effort.

I do, and I prefer it. I'm always leaving my cell phone in my bag or on a different floor of the house. When someone calls my landline, I know it! Plus, I think I hear better on the landline, and the connection just feels more... solid, somehow. But I'm an old fogie (over 30!  ) so I'm kind of set in my ways. I didn't even have a cell phone until I graduated college.

Yes and I always will. I also find that those who do not have landlines, NEVER call me on mine. I refuse to be a slave to my cell phone.

Yes we do because I love having my home phone and rarely use my cell anymore. I can't imagine not having it, and since we have kids I think it's important to have when teaching about 911 and having the e-911 helps if they ever did need to call 911 and didn't know the address. Plus I wouldn't leave a cell for a babysitter and I feel it's my responsibility to have access to help if need be in my home.

Yes. Cell service is not good where we live and even where it is good I hate speaking on a cell phone. Bluetooth, ear pieces and speakers do not make that better for me. I don't even like it when someone else calls me from a cell phone and I am on a landline. I use my cell phone more for the smartphone features. I also know that as long as I am self employed I will have landlines at home and at the office. I work in both places and I feel it's important.
