No. I remember reading when I was pregnant with my first that this is not good - it elevates your temperature in your belly and if it gets too warm (and how would you know) it can be harmful to the baby.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I never do, I always keep it covered (usually wear a tankini). I just didn't feel comfy exposing it to the sun.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I was wondering this myself. I know pregnant women who wear bikinis, but to error on the side of caution, I am wearing tankinis and keeping my belly covered.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
ahh, I've been to the beach 2 times so far since being pregnant & I've tanned in my bikini! But I'm entering my second trimester so I'm getting bigger now & I just ordered a tankini online.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I think I read somewhere that the hormones during pregnancy make you burn more easily so I've tried to be more cautious when I'm out in the sun.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I'm 8 months pregnant and wear the same bikini from last year. My belly is huge, but I lather on sunblock every hour.
I smear heavy white sunblock so frequently, I feel like a greased pig!
My arms and legs are tan, but my stomach is WHITE.
I'm also in the pool a lot so I don't overheat.
But then again, it's not exactly if we've had the best weather this past month...so I haven't been out that much.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I haven't but when I asked my doctor during my 1st pregnancy he said it was fine to lay out in the sun with an exposed belly.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I tan my belly all the time. I make sure I don't bake for too long and go in the water frequently. My OB said it's fine, just always wear SPF, hydrate frequently and don't overheat. That being said I am enjoying my beachtime

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
Talk to your ob. I was told not to because there is a risk of overheating.
Also be careful with your face. Skin can react differently while pregnant & discolor. For me it wasn't worth the risk of melasma aka "masks of pregnancy".

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I have in the past but only expose my belly for a short period of time. Since I am so use to getting my belly tan, it looks funny with it being so white. I lather up with SPF & then will pull my tankini up for 20 minutes or so, then dip in the pool. Needless to say, there is some color but not alot compared to the rest of me.

Same here I've gone to both the beach and I sit out at our pool in a bikini and tankini, I put 45 on my belly...and granted spend most of my time in the water, but my belly has gotten some color.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
Not me. I don't feel comfortable exposing my belly. I wear my bikini with a tank top and shorts over it.

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
My belly is tan- I haven't been "sunbathing" like I used to, but I've sitting down at the beach, with SPF 50, shade, and plenty of water.

Same here. My dr mainly gave me 3 important things to know: 1. drink plenty of water 2. limit my salts 3. stay out of the sun

Re: Do you tan your pregnant belly
I've been wearing tankinis all along but yesterday I did a bikini. I found the bikini more comfortable.
I layed in the sun for about 45 minutes. I put SPF 30 on my belly. It didn't get any color. I was really careful not to burn it. It was fine.
