Re: Do you think it is practical for a 17 month old to wear crocs?
DD has them but they are not her everyday sandals for summer....she wears them once in awhile. her heels are too skinny for them so they fall off all the time anyway.

DS has them and loves them - I also just bought them for beach/water use. I don't expect him to wear them everyday/all day.

From my experience that is too young. I would say wait until next season.

I don't know. I am usually really relaxed about everything but, Liam is still only in sturdy sneakers at 2. The closest thing he has to sandles are those summery open sneakers that Stride Rite makes. I am holding off on flip flops and sandles for a while. Maaaaybe sometime this summer.
Then again.. my kid is a clutz. He constantly has a cut or bruise on his face. He doesn't need any help tripping or falling.

I just bought my almost-18 month old Crocs yesterday. She can't wear them to daycare - she will wear sneakers as they are safer for playing - but for weekends, around the house and in and out of errands, they are adorable and she loves them.

I just got them for my 16 month old. I got the ones with an elastic back so that its easier for him to walk in them :)

Re: Do you think it is practical for a 17 month old to wear crocs?
They are not smart for wood floors...so many kids, my own son included, have tripped in them when they caught the floor..my son got such an awful lump on his head wearing crocs...I took them off and never put them back on.
I don't know. Tons of kids wear them but i just feel so many people say the same thing i have-they aren't the best to walk in on most surfaces. Beach would be ok though!

Only at the beach or the pool, or in the backyard playing with the water table. I would not have my toddler wear them as regular shoes.

Ann has been wearing the fleece lined ones from BRU since about 12 months old - mostly as slippers around the house but she has worn them to daycare on occassion.
