Do you think it was less overwhelming the second time around?
Just curious. I found that I was a bit overwhelmed and when I look back, I don't know why.
I'm afraid that I would be more nervous the second time around with an infant.
Does it really get easier?

Going from 1-2 was a dream. Yes you can't nap with the newborn because you have an older one but it was nothing like being a totally new mom!

In some ways it's more overwhelming, in some ways less. For example, you will probably have ZERO time to relax, harder to manuever two into and out of the car, etc. But on the other hand, you know what to expect from a newborn and all that stuff.
All in all, for me, the adjustment was MUCH easier going from 1 to 2 than it was going from 0 to 1. I was totally shell-shocked having my first; having my second is only slightly more of a hassle

I'm nervous too, and I suffered from baby blues and I'm wondering how I will be if I get them again, and have to deal with 2 kids.....

Re: Do you think it was less overwhelming the second time around?
I found going from 1 to 2 was a lot harder. There is really no down time. One is always up.
I forgot everything about having a newborn in the house. I feel that every decision I make for the 2nd is wrong and I found it a very hard adjustment. My younger son is 9 months and I found it to get easier with 2 when he turned 3 mos. Also, it is hard to keep in mind that what works for one child may or may not work for the next.
Good luck!! The truth is that 1, 2 3 or more kids is not easy.....No matter how many kids you have a baby changes everything!!

Re: Do you think it was less overwhelming the second time around?
I didn't find goinig from 1 to 2 all that hard.... I had two very easy children and it took about 3 months, but we got into a groove and things went well. I even get them to nap at the same time every day, which is great for me.
Now that they are 1 and 3, I admit its harder than a newborn and a 2 year old, believe it or not. They are just always on the go and interacting, and sometimes in a not so nice way
