I don't think you can compare the two in terms of its impact on the country & the world. I also don't think you compare Sandy to Katrina.
But I think PTSD is similar in any mass catastrophic event. I think seeing that we are can be absolutely helpless during a disaster can damage anyone psyche.
Exactly. 9-11 was just different IMO it's disrespectful to compare the two.

I can see the reason for the comparison because both events have impacted people psychologically. Those that were there will likely suffer symptoms of PTSD. Those with kids in school or who work in a school are concerned about safety. Any tragic event can create anxiety for people, and I'm sure it stirs up feeling for people who already suffer from anxiety on a daily basis. I doubt the comparison is being made to try to align the events in Sandy Hook with the events of 9/11. They are obviously completely different situations.

Exactly. While the two events themselves are not even remotely similar, I can see similarities in the emotional aftermath of the two events.
