Probably more than we think.... Personally, I can't be bothered having 2 accounts... it would just take away from my post count with this account...  Plus, it's just too much to deal with, worrying about which account you're logged into, etc....

I know for a fact that one banned member can't read the boards from home or from work...so I think the banned folks have their IP addresses blocked (*ehem* Holla).
As far as people with other SNs, we see that ALL THE TIME and I hate it. Unless you got a BFP and don't want to come out yet...if you cant say it with your name everyone knows you on, don't bother saying it at all 
And spill the beans...who do you suspect

I don't think there are. I would would imagine that banned people would be mad for being banned and would move on.
I know one banned person whom I still speak with doesnt read the boards. She did move on to another board to help vill the void.

I think probably...
We've all seen the random screen name pop up attached to a controversial comment. It's pretty apparent that it's someone using an "alias" SN.
As for those who were banned? There might be, but I would be sort of surprised. I mean, why would you want to lurke here if you've been banned?

I will admit I have a 2nd name but I have only used it to ask specific questions since I know there are some lurkers on here I dont wanna get myself in trouble...but again I only used it like 4 times.

I know when someone is banned their IP address is blocked, but I suppose if they found a new computer to use they could come back under a different name.
I've seen new names, and you can tell they're really new. Then there are new names, but it seems like they've been here before....

If the aliases are to be believed, I see this on the Relationship board too. People who have concerns about their relationships and don't want to put it all out there since it's intensely personal.
I thought some of the aliases were fakes over time, it's never easy for me to tell. I always worry that everyone will call them a fake, then they're not fake, and instead of getting support, they feel worse in their situation than before.

Except for the posts that start "I am a regular poster but I am using a differnt name for privacy/personal reasons" I don't usually notice.
Every once in a new poster jumps into hot threads claiming to be a really long term lurker so they know how everyone is - that seems fake. And I swear I read one thread where it seemed the same person had two names and was actually talking to themselves.
