Do you use foundation primer?
At almost 47 I noticed my foundation was looking cakey so I found a new one I really like. As I was in the mall every makeup artist used a primer first. I have tried them once or twice but never committed to it. Does it really make that much of a difference? Do you use smashbox or another brand?

Do you use foundation primer?
I use Smashbox photo finish primer or the Laura Mercier foundation primer. I like Smashbox the best though.

I haven't found a holy grail primer yet- I tend to switch it up a lot- but I always use one because I feel it probably makes a difference.

I too have a bunch, but I don't really notice much of a difference really so I sometimes skip it all together.

Stila makes one I love
It’s color correction and is green, white and pink in a clear bottle. I can wear it alone or under foundation/powder
Makes a huge difference
Benefit pore professional is my second favorite

Nope. A few different makeup artists I know have told me they never use a primer and instead they use a facial moisturizer under foundation.

I thought facial moisturizer was a given, no?
I moisturize at night and in the morning regardless.

Everyday, never use foundation with out it! I use all different ones, Smashbox, Too Faced, Laura Geller.

I rarely wear makeup, but when I do it’s foundation. Try putting your powder on before the foundation. Then put the foundation on and the use powder. It works and it’s one less product you have to buy.

First I moisturize with Olay Regenerist. Then I use this stuff... it has no name, because makeup artists can put their label on it and sell it. I tried so many that were sticky and thick before finding this one by accident when I got my makeup done for my brother's wedding.
I use the teeniest bit. It is silky, has spf, and really is awesome at evening out the skin and keeping your makeup on. I swear by it.

Preparation H, I think you mean. I have not tried that. The only primer I believe in is eye primer.
Seriously, just moisturize and let that sink in. Give a light dusting of powder. Then put some foundation on and blend. Finish up with a light dusting of powder. And it lasts the whole day.
Plus it saves you a ton of time! And no extra product.

Ah, whoops, sorry! Who can keep up with all these creams at old age, lol.
But wasn’t there something that suggested you use Prep H for undereye circles or something?

Yes!! It makes a difference! I've been using Arbonne's primer. It is amazing!
Also, I'll use it sometimes if I'm not wearing foundation. It evens out my skin and makes it look so much better.

I love Dr Brandt’s No More Pores for minimizing my pores
Hourglass mineral veil primer for oil control, my favorite especially when it’s hot out

I recently tried Mally Perfect Prep Neutralizing Primer.
They make a poreless one too but my skin tends to be too dry for those pore minimizing foundations- they are mattifying.
I like the Neutralizing because it has a hint of sheer color to it and it kind of neutralizes the red in my skin. I find I need less foundation and concealer after using this.
If you wanted to go without foundation, this would be great.
