Do you/will you encourage your child to believe in the Easter Bunny?
I am all for Santa... I want my children to believe as long as realistically possible... but the Easter Bunny? I'm not sure... T is only turning 4 and he already looks at me like I'm crazy trying to make him believe a big bunny comes into the house and hides eggs and leaves baskets. He's already questioning.... bunnies don't talk, bunnies can't buy candy... etc. I feel Santa is easier to pull off. There is something scary and so unrealistic about a big bunny entering the house. I feel bad pushing this. Is it just me?! LOL
What do you do regarding the Easter Bunny?

Nope. I personally think it is silly ... probably since I wasn't raised to believe in it

I totally will be doing the Easter bunny, and for as long as DS will believe. I believe kids grow up way too fast...I believed for a very long time and I think it makes things so much more magical and fascinating. I can't wait to see his excitement about it! for now, at 4 months I don't think he'll care..lol

Re: Do you/will you encourage your child to believe in the Easter Bunny?
Bunny, Santa, leprechauns, etc.............all part of the fun of childhood. My DD is 2 1/2 and she's SO excited for the Easter Bunny to come and hide eggs and leave her a basket. I think it's cute and fun. When I was a kid we LOVED dying eggs, hunting for eggs, and getting our Easter baskets. I am absolutely continuing the tradition with my DD.

Definitely! But I won't push it--when he no longer is interested or believes, we'll tell him the truth. At 3, he believes.

Re: Do you/will you encourage your child to believe in the Easter Bunny?
Sure, its all a bit hokie, but its all in good fun and in celebration of the innocence of childhood. Soon enough they will be all grown up with responsibility and worry, so why not make it as magical as you can while you can?

yes we do the Easter bunny and my kids are 6 and 7. honestly i don't think they believe anymore. i think they are just saying it to appease me!! they look at me like " yea right ma!" but it's just fun and even after they don't believe i will still do it for the girls!! it's harmless!!

Ditto. I have no problems with Santa, but DS will not believe in the Easter bunny. Easter is the high holiday in my faith.
ETS: Even though I don't promote belief in the Easter bunny, I still do egg hunts, dying eggs, Easter baskets, just no bunnies that lay the eggs.

We do too! I get little gifts for all of my nieces and nephews so I will get DD a little gift too.
This year, everyone got kites!
We also color eggs, bake easter bread and my SIL just started an egg hunt tradition!
But, that all takes place after church!
