I do for Sarah since she eats what I do, so we're having pizza tonight. I'm not going to stop giving Andy meat.

Interesting. I know people that have their children follow lent that are young.

Yes, because my DH and I aren't so it just makes sense for Julia to not eat it also.....

But he doesn't really eat meat anyway. We don't know where he came from.

Right now Marron won't follow it. Once she starts eating what we eat, she probably will follow it because I'm not going to make several different meals. I don't think it will hurt her to abstain from meat once a week for 6 weeks.

Re: Do your children follow no meat during lent?
I think we probably will next year (he's not on meats yet) especially because I also don't want to be making multiple meals. I'm Armenian, so Jack was given his 1st Communion at his Christening. Technically, we're not supposed to eat meat for the whole 40 days but DH is Catholic, so we just do Fridays.

Re: Do your children follow no meat during lent?
I wouldn't make a baby or toddler follow the rules to a T. I started my DS on the rule when he started pre-K, he is in 4th grade now and has always been in Catholic school. I wasn't about to be the parent everyone was whispering about- you know how kids can be too honest.. " My Mommy made us steaks for Ash Wednesday!" (not true) but I'd literally die! I also watch that I don't put deli meat in his lunch on Fridays. But since we follow this rule year round..no slip-ups.
